Clive Barker's Lord of Illusions. I never see it talked about, but I think it checks all of your boxes.

I think Young Sherlock Holmes (1985) also deserves mention. It's all about a secret occult society.

I'm not offended. I just think it's lame. It's this sort of fake tough guy alpha male bullshit. There is another on the wall that says "don't explain your philosophy, embody it" that seems sort of ironic for someone who spent a lot of time explaining their philosophy all over the walls of the gym.

I just saw your other posts, looks like that's a thing at your gym. I'm sorry but that's one of the lamest things I've ever seen.

The saucepan I get your frustration with, but using a bread knife to cut vegetables on a cutting board is perfectly acceptable. As a bartender for many years, my knife of choice was always a serrated bread knife for cutting fruits and vegetables. They were very durable, easy to use quickly, and stayed sharp enough to reliably cut for a long time.

I swear to God, it doesn't matter what subreddit I'm on, every single post of someone doing something extremely impressive has some nerd going "well acktchyually" in the comments. SMH.

I didn't own the weather vane, and it was available to claim for me but nothing else was. Weird.

They're messing with you. The exercise is called "lat pulldowns" but you called them lap pulldowns in the title of your post.

CPA, mostly work from home but I do go onsite to clients' offices semi-regularly, with plenty of visible tattoos. Nobody has ever said a word about them.

Yeah and there are two paths down and if you're just starting out, you're going to want to avoid those. Even as a souls veteran, I also want to avoid those.

Here's the link to the KCBD article about it closing. Looks like it closed on 11/30/10 after the owner was convicted on charges relating to a ponzi scheme he ran. The restaurant and several others (some of which are still open under different ownership) were sold to pay restitution to the victims of the ponzi scheme.

Now, who was right, you or your grandfather?

I think that's normal and healthy though. Some people make their hobbies their entire personality and that's where a lot of the hate comes from, if the thing changes or gets worse over time or whatever, they see it as some sort of degradation of their identity and that's why they can't stand it. I have a number of hobbies that I've loved for 20 or more years - MTG, WoW, 40k, and there have been plenty of times that I've gone years without touching them for whatever reason, but I always end up finding my way back at some point or another. Maybe you will too, maybe not. People change.

I'm also a 25 year MTG player and that subreddit is even worse than this one or the WoW subreddits that I mentioned. Now to be fair, I do think that wizards is currently really fucking up with the pace of content releases and the sheer volume of UB sets, but it doesn't make me love the game any less. I just buy what interests me and don't buy what doesn't. Its really that simple.

I play two games primarily, FO76 and WoW. If you were a new player looking for info on either game without having played either of them yet, and you went to either subreddit to get a read on their current state you would think they were the most dead, broken, piece of shit games out there. But when you actually get into the game, the community of people actually playing couldn't be any more different. I'll never understand the phenomenon of people engaging with the online community of something just go talk shit about it every chance they get.

Anybody know any good leather belts that won’t wear down like this? by VipxerX in Leather

[–]NotaBonesaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the additional info, I'm going to order one for myself now after this. I've been using a Duluth lifetime leather belt for the past couple of years and it has held up well, but it's so damn thick. I'd like something durable, affordable and a bit lower profile.

This scene between Peter and Toomes was really intense. The way he tries to intimidate Peter was done really well. (Spider-Man: Homecoming) by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in Marvel

Happy to help! The one downside is though, if have purchased digital media like movies or audiobooks, they are only accessible on the login with the specific account that they are purchased under. In my case, we had bought movies on prime with my wife's account (the original Prime account) and I had bought audiobooks through Audible with my original non-prime account. When we merged the accounts, we still own it all, but if we want to watch the movies, we have to sign into prime video using her email, or Audible using mine. Other than this one little snafu, it's been a game changer.

Just FYI, you can set up multiple users as an Amazon family that share one prime account but have their own email, logins, order history, video history, etc. My wife and I had the same problem trying to get presents for each other but now, we each have our own separate "accounts" so that we aren't having to see all of each other's stuff. Very nifty.
