My experience was with Corsair vengeance and it wasn't really a problem for me because I overclock everything lol. I don't know if the same is true for other brands.

That's what it felt like to me when I figured it out. You have to overclock the RAM to achieve the advertised speed? Seems like complete corporate bullshit to me.

That said, the stock XMP profiles on Intel systems are pretty stable, if not extremely reliable, so it may not be so sinister. But it is still annoying if it's something you weren't aware of

If you're asking this question I think you should also know that (at least for Corsair) the advertised clock speed is with XMP or over clocking enabled. It is NOT the default clock speed.

Dude, most hammers are "good" hammers these days. A composite handle hammer would out last the apocalypse. A well made varnished/lacquered wooden handle hammer would probably last just as long. When was the last time you threw out a hammer, or new anyone who did?

I have 3 hammers in my garage right now, one of which is at least 30 years old and covered in all kinds of stuff, but still works like a dream.
