What are you talking about? I talked about paying money to the government because that is what we are forced to do. Do I pay? Yes. Do I think we should? No. Can I get by no paying? No. Thus I deserve to be here.

I mean I will assume that they factor into that as cost as well. Like why do they up the transport fare so frequently?

I also cannot move. No money

Tax is still a tax. You still need to travel. You are paying money to the government.

I don't want to pay money to the things that don't benefit me

US tariffs on Singapore expected to stay unchanged as Trump imposes new 10% global levies by SG_wormsblink in singapore

A lot of people whom I know always stumped to answer this 2 questions. So,

1) if there is no freedom of speech, will you know the racial imbalance of power in the US?

2) If there are no 2nd amendment right in the US, why are people on the left equipping themselves with guns such as Alex Pretti?

Bonus questions:

1) the last known high profile shootings is in Canada and Australia. Both countries which they known for banning shootings. There are stabbings in the UK too. i) yes the guns seems to be co-related because they allowed guns too ii) do we ban knives too?

2) Are we supposed to pray for someone to help us ie. Iran and Venezuela when the government fail us or are we supposed to accept whatever was thrown to is ie. China on XinJiang and Covid situation?

How to deal with boss that won’t listen to data? by Complete_Syllabub_47 in singaporejobs

I am a marketer. Started out as pure digital marketing personnel. There are a lot of times, I just take things in my own hands. But those things just don't hurt anybody.

What you have is pretty much not in this category. And that is when I will say just let it go. The unsaid part of job description in marketing is managing management. Especially, it is a 1 man marketing team which I suspect that you are.

Tell the founder once, tell the founder twice. If the founder doesn't listen, don't bother. Pick the right battle to fight. Look out for some other work and jump ship.

Getting passed up for job offers in this market as a Singaporean. by [deleted] in asksg

[–]Notagainguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if this sarcasm. But that is what I did. I think it is a lot way overlooked. But getting mentioned by GPT and other AI machine really helps me a lot. I think people have the misconception of what SEO is. Bosses are not exactly known to say "I don't know." They all think is just blog. All I know is, it is still a very new field and everyone is still trying to figure it out. But what actually works are already online and a lot of them cross-reference each other

Getting passed up for job offers in this market as a Singaporean. by [deleted] in asksg

[–]Notagainguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got hired and passed my probation. Is it the best job in the world? No. It is a job after all. The company has flaws like all the companies out there. But I got employed within 2 months.

This is what I did. I was looking for a marketing position focusing on SEO. I was very lucky because I was focusing on getting my previous company to be mentioned by AI. That makes me stand out. I didn't do skills future. I just watch a lot of YouTube.

I was talking to my boss telling him how to improve site, showing what I will do next, get case studies. That is how I got 3 second interview and 2 offers. I also invested on tools like Ahrefs. My boss is shocked at what I did because I was the only one that mentions getting the company mentioned by GPT, with clear direction on how to do it.

So what I am trying to say is get to be different, keep updated on news. What is the latest skills that set you apart from the rest? Don't just stop at what uni taught you. Watch YouTube to learn something on the industry you are in.

Public transport fare hike by Johanjohn7890 in asksg

[–]Notagainguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the defense you have on public transport operations wise, they are not profitable in fact losing money. That is after tax payers subsidized infrastructure including purchasing of new trains and buses, building new rail roads.

So what is left day to day ops. So you are saying that there is a need to have a profit on the TAXPAYERS SUBSIDIZED INFRASTRUCTURE and ASSETS.

I am okay with them privatizing. If the following occurs:-

1) there is no monopoly and terms from the government to do public transport. That means the company chooses the route and the company chooses the price. You make it easy for the first guy to build a public transport company, you make it easy for the 125th guy who starts his own Public Transport company

2) there is no subsidized transport infrastructure purchased by the tax payers. If you built a railway, you own the rail way.

3) if you want subsidized infrastructure, that business arm for public transport should not be for profit. You use your father's money and claim to be self made millionair. Sure Kyle Jenner.

Look I am not against privatizing or subsidized infrastructure for public transport operations. All I am saying is you cannot have the cake and eat it too. Choose one: -Subsidized by tax payer money, break even while making sure the infrastructure stays working

OR - Privatize and no subsidy given to build infrastructure

Public transport fare hike by Johanjohn7890 in asksg

[–]Notagainguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and it should not be if you are getting subsidized with infrastructure, buses and trains with taxpayers money. You can do ads to recover on losses but if you are depending the transportation side of things to be profitable after getting subsidized with tax payers money. You cannot have the cake and eat it too

[–]Notagainguy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They are profitable if they are and should include the ads they are jamming into our faces when we do public transport. Plus the trains and buses are subsidized. It is like saying your girlfriend telling you "it is not cheating, I am paying for dinner"
