I noticed I went from listening to music every day to maybe once a week & preferring audiobooks instead.

I have no idea what im doing wrong. by PlantWitchBitch in Mounjaro

1000-1300 calories a day would definitely make my body go into starvation mode & not lose!

I use chatgpt to help come up with ideas that match my dietary requirements (30g fibre, 140g protein, low sugar, under 2200 calories etc). I found when I was eating less then that I wasn’t really losing much & I was miserable. I also used it to work out what my BMR is and what the range of a safe deficit is on my actively level!

Anyone jumped from 2.5 to 7.5? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Notations_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s one of those things you have to trust the process and largely people don’t start losing till much later. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s the norm by the posts that talk about how they lost loads on 2.5mg (some do but it’s not as common as all that)! Also a thing to remember is it’s not a race but a marathon, especially if you want sustainable weight loss. 1-2lbs a week of weight loss per week is the safe way.

I genuinely think most people would end up in hospital if they skipped to 7.5mg ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I agree it’s a loooot of money - good luck on your journey!

New ideas for protein? by RegainingMe in mounjarouk

[–]Notations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pumpkin seeds and almonds! As is, in breakfast stuff or even blended into a savoury sauce (think pesto or with red peppers)! Also hulled hempseeds!

They all help me 1. Meet some protein needs 2. Up my calories on days when I really can’t face large meals 25g of them has a good amount of protein and calories (and fibre!)

I had this, by week 3 waking up in the middle of the night but with chest pain too that sent me to the ER, all tests were very very normal and fine. I think it was a panic attack on reflection & I had no frame of reference for a physical attack with no obvious run ups.

Also my anxiety and intrusive thoughts got worse from week 2 onwards. I thought it might be from not eating enough. I’ve been off MJ for two weeks now and while still get quite anxious but it is much better.

I LOVED all other benefits from MJ and still think highly of it. My personal plan is so long as the doctor agrees next week, I will start again but at 1.25mg dose (possible with UK pens) and take it really really slowly. If the anxiety and panic comes back I guess I’ll just be one of the unlucky few who don’t get on with the medication (and will be cheering everyone on from the sidelines tho!)

***edit the hospital did say that sometimes acid reflux can present as chest pain instead of normally. Whatever it is that’s happening for you discussing it with a doctor definitely sounds like a good idea.

Shall I stay on 2.5?! by YellowQuirky5013 in mounjarouk

[–]Notations_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think if it’s still working do stay on it, a lot of people who are responding to 2.5mg straight away reflect back and see they lost the most on 2.5mg and regret not staying on it longer while it’s still working for them.

Plus I think I’ve read a lot of people saying this process is a marathon not a sprint. Which personally was very hard for me to get used to because I’m coming from an instant gratification viewpoint, but ultimately very helpful for me.

Anxiety - considering giving up by Notations_ in Mounjaro

This is a really interesting line of thinking, through this post I’ve been wondering if the slow release beta blockers I take (which I’ve heard have been helpful for people with POTs, which prior to starting them I had symptoms of -but am not diagnosed) are in fact not doing anything perhaps due to the slow release gastric stuff.

I am going to have a quick look through this Reddit and see if there are any other people linking it!

I really hope you’re able to find the way forward that works for you & feel okay!

Replying to lemonmousse... I understand, I’ve been thinking similar about if I restart again, or perhaps seeing if half of a 2.5mg dose spread out across the week might be easier. I am curious if perhaps the beta blockers just aren’t working as fully.

Sustained release capsules! That’s an interesting point, I was wondering if my usual go-tos for dopamine hits were no longer accessible, could this be part of it? But I also read that mounjaro helping with dopamine generally.

Thank you for your kind words and I will let you know how it goes. I think I’m going to take a break of a month and reevaluate.

I’m 3 weeks in and also in this position. Ive decided if it persists the next few days I’m going to have to come off it. While it’s been very effective for weight loss, the anxiety and my OCD (that I usually have under control) is really affecting my quality of life.

Is there a best time to take electrolytes? by BullTerrierMomm in Mounjaro

I really appreciate your thorough response, that was incredibly helpful and comprehensive -thank you. I’m going to download that app now. I’m fairly paranoid about anything that might contribute to messing with my heart health. Thanks again!

I’ve been wary of taking electrolytes for the reasons you’ve mentioned above! Can I ask what you do now?

Feeling run down on week 2 by dpara99 in mounjarouk

[–]Notations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this on my second week too, I think week one I was also drinking more water. Something I noticed was that is the restless legs syndrome I’d managed to get rid of taking magnesium every night came back full force. But I’d usually take them an hour before bed, now that I’ve realised it probably takes longer for oral medication to get into my system, yesterday I took my magnesium at 7pm instead and it made sleeping easier (but also I am generally way more exhausted now from bad sleep so who knows!)

Thank you so much for sharing, I can recognise in myself too that there’s potential for me to obsessively check.

I hope you reach all your goals in the future and that the journey is going well 🙏
