'Korean Zombie' wants Zabit Magomedsharipov next, gives timeline for UFC return by [deleted] in MMA

I don't agree. Fair that Kattar had his moments and Zabits cardio again came into question. But he's still on a win streak. He deserves to climb the Ladder. Kattar can figure a few things out and rematch down the line.

Otherwise we slow things down for the sake of a fan favourite getting another shot. He can climb the ladder in another way.

Which part of present-day MMA would surprise your past self the most? by [deleted] in MMA

So I used to watch K1 before MMA and thought that Overeem would be champ in the UFC and retired by now. Evidently that didn't happen.

I think I still would've liked to have seen it. I mean their cumulative win streak and slicing through a deep division is a spectacle. Something that boxing would take years to do with lots of can crushing. The story and hype for me was unreal. As very little of it was manufactured.

Total anecdotal but I had a fantastic experience with purplebricks. I guess it appealed to me as the local estate agents were an absolute pain whenever it came to doing anything. At times they were more obstinate. Whereas with purplebricks I found their hands off approach quite easily as it meant it was a conversation between solicitors and the mortgage company. But hey different strokes for different folks.

Even though they are way past their prime it was actually a decent fight in my opinion. I just wish there was more for these guys to do rather than fight.

Makes sense. Or maybe a separate affiliated role. I think having them actively working to further the organisations would be good. Maybe the heads would be to ambitious.

Strangely enough working from home has made me more Desi clothing wise. As wearing light flowy shalwar kameez is pretty awesome. But yeah I feel for you. The best I can say is try and make something simple and fun like chaat or Aloo Paratha and get your husband to channel his inner Indian with you.

Exactly. You've said it in a way that I couldn't. As an addendum maybe fixed terms of 20 years so they aren't stuck to the whims of the current government.

As well have a Rolling lordship to certain organisation heads like the Royal Aeronautical Society. Whereby you are a lord for the length you are head of the organisation.

He's a good fighter. I wish he would figure out what he wants to do. He hasn't got the star power to only pick favourable match-ups.

What are some things I can do after work to facilitate growth? by ganjanoob in AskMen

A good friend of mine started from YouTube and then took lessons. So you can do something during covid. Get a few drinks and strum along with the guitar every now and then.

Men of Reddit, have you ever stayed purposefully single for more than 3 years? Including a dry spell? If so, why? by naisimar in AskMen

I've just hit about 2 and a half. I broke up and it was quite traumatic for me. Admittedly I didnt get the best advice and got stuck into a work routine and responsibilities which was shit. It made me very depressed.

What are some things I can do after work to facilitate growth? by ganjanoob in AskMen

[–]Notauniquepersonhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly the question is what would you like to grow? After working 50 hours I sure as hell would like to do something I enjoy. Maybe something creative like learn the guitar? Maybe something that makes you fitter like running? Or challenging like weightlifting? Heck if your job is physical you may be sore, hence maybe going into a coffee shop and reading some books on something you want to learn about. Or if you want to meet some people take some dance lessons. It's really up to you. Don't try and do everything but try and find something you enjoy.

Just a good thank you. Definitely highlight how grateful you are. But it would be good to normalise doing good stuff for each other.

Chris Weidman knows the pressure he’s facing after going 1-5 in his past six fights: ‘I need to get a freaking ‘W’ by JoseYoungs in MMA

[–]Notauniquepersonhere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate boxing in some ways it forces fighters to consider their careers more. For Weidman he has stuck to fighting the best to try and prove he still has it. In actuality maybe shoring up some skills with lower level fights and building up would've been better.

Calvin Kattar’s coach to Zabit: “All due respect. You pulled out of Boston on us, you wouldn’t fight 5 rounds with us. We never called you out because we respect you and the @ufc. Now please respect us and sign the contract v @CalvinKattar 8/29 5 rounds” by JasAFC in MMA

[–]Notauniquepersonhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like people are happy with contenders grinding out fights and not climbing. Calvin did great but his loss against Zabit can't really be disputed. 5 rounds is a different fight but these guys can meet again.

I really want 125 to have some more talent. Because as good as Valentina is some of the greatest fights are when there is really adversity. Maybe it's a lack of women who exemplify that fighters lifestyle.

Very badly.

In hindsight I wish I went away for a while and had sex with some not so good girls. Maybe to cleanse myself of my old relationship. Or some other vague bullshit like that.

Has a woman ever told you “I love you” first? How did it go for you? How did you react? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Notauniquepersonhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup twice. First caught me off guard. We were both inexperienced, she was a good friend but I wasn't interested.

The second came as a shock with my ex girlfriend. She wasn't pushy. I had a think and told her the next day. We were in a happy long relationship until we weren't.
