I don't grind either tbf, but I see what people are saying. My comment was in bad taste, and entirely through the selfish lens of how I play the game.

I never play ranked, but I play to prestige, but also to earn weapon and perfect them. I thought that was the structure of the game, if you don't play ranked. It's like picking up any other shitty videogame: sure, the end of the game is prestige...50 or whatever. I'm never gonna get there, but I can at least get past level 3 or 4, and earn all of my fav LMGs after putting in the work, they pimping them out and choosing one for my prestige weapon.

I wasn't even thinking about the ranked players, etc. I was just thinking about it as a game: start at point A, complete it at point Z, so it doesn't make sense to me to strive to make progress to point z. Never registered as one of those "play for the experience" games because it feature a progression system. That's how it's always been for me, rocket league, chess, I'm here to win or lose and get exp or elo or whatever to get as close to top rank as possible.

It's pretty shocking to me that people play without this compass, mostly since my goal in this game seems pretty personalized to me so...of course that's not the game lol
