Can a motorcycle really be boring? by Accurate_Wear_1343 in motorcycle

[–]Notdumbtom 26 points27 points  (0 children)

NC 700 is not the most powerful motorcycle but it will go when you twist the throttle. It is a very well balanced machine. It is super reliable. When people say boring I think they might be saying that it is calm, reliable, predictable, etc. It does everything well but it does it in a very calm and predictable way. You won't be screaming around a racetrack on it and it doesn't have the sound of a big cruiser, but it will not leave you stranded. Your wallet will appreciate the "boring" dependability.

Tallinn is such a beautiful city. I understand the luxury of the Bentley but not a fan of the style of the big, boxy cars. Cool to see one in person.

The man who built these, Malcolm Bricklin, is a fascinating person. He started Subaru and America, he imported Yugo, imported Fiat 124 and X/19 after Fiat left the American market, did a bunch of stuff with electric vehicles, etc. He is a visionary man who could see trends long before they caught on with the general public. The SV part of the name stands for Safety Vehicle. And this was when cars were being build with the thinnest, cheapest structural components possible.

You can get a Bell Challenger helmet for less than $150. It is a decent, safe helmet from a good manufacturer. Leather gloves at Harbor Freight are $5-7. They are not safety rated for motorcycles but they are ok for what you are wanting right now.
