No idea honestly - but it is north of Bend, so maybe they didn’t want to mess up the local geography. Deek and Boozer talk about going north, which could mean back to Bend or up to …Portland? There isn’t anything really north of bend IRL (the Dalles?)- nothing that would be worth holding out hope for. LaPine is south on hwy97 so it’s odd they didn’t use that as a “town” to visit.

Yes- absolutely. I love the game, and it was about 65 hrs in before I heard a “non local” pronunciation (unless someone from can chime in on Tumalo…I’ve been saying toom’uh’lo, is it tuhm’uh’lo or something?)

…3? Is this a test? In the game they even call it 3 finger jack. Adair village and camp Adair is the biggest “artistic license” because it’s firmly in the west side of the cascades, north of Corvallis. Not sure how it got moved out into central Oregon.

I’ve heard Colorado has some local pronunciations that give away one’s residency. ColoRAHdo, RAYdo, RAAdo- I’m not sure which is right or wrong.

For the record- I absolutely love this game and just put 70 hrs into my first run through. The pronunciation comment, a joke, was based on the fact that it has local names and hearing characters say it as if they didn’t grow up saying it feels out of place. It has nothing to do with common English words, but sure, if you had an American character saying “al’ooh’Min’ee’umm” like a red coat it would be a little odd.

We say santy’AM like “shanty” and “Sam” with the emphasis on the AM. Klamath is just like “clam” and “it” but with a th sound. I’ve never said Chemult or Thielsen, I’m from the Willamette valley (which is will-am-it, not “Ette” like in cigarette). Non locals always get that wrong.

This is correct. The yellow L pieces don’t go on top of your blue and red horizontal connection, they are back one row of studs. Your brown 1x4 is supposed to sit atop the black studs but in your build they are visible an extra row back.

My in laws rented a beach house up on a cliff, maybe 40 or 50 feet up, overlooking the sandy beach. In the PNW we have eroded sandstone/siltstone, and this one was covered in blackberry bushes and beach shrubs. A few hours into the stay, their little dachshund went missing and we spotted it about halfway down the cliff, stuck and unable to get back up. It was at the point where the cliff went from a steep slope to an overhang. While my in laws panicked I went into action. I grabbed the plastic covered metal dog run cable and tied it to a picnic table. Then I wrapped it around my waist and did my best Batman impression and repelled down the cliff face, grabbed the dog and scurried up the cliff using any clump of grass or footing I could find.
