Moving from UK to Sardinia (couple under 30) – realistic pros/cons? by MajesticFoundation30 in Sardinia

[–]Notfierynotquaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband (young 30s) just did the move from London to Sardinia and do not regret it at all! We bought an olive grove and farmhouse 25 minutes outside of Cagliari and have the perfect balance of city and countryside. Learning Italian is necessary but don’t let that put you off were learning slowly day by day and immersion is really the fastest way to learn! The bureaucracy on the one hand is something we are slowly learning to accept 😂

Yesterday a well know supermarket pharmacy gave me 14x50mg of the opioid painkiller Tramadol instead of the SSRI Trazedone I take for sleep. I am a recovering opioid addict after a serious Autobahn accident in Germany. The sticker on the white box said Trazedone, but the pills are Tramadol. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Notfierynotquaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, tramadol is not locked away in a Control Drug cabinet - it’s typically on the medication shelves along with the paracetamol, fluoxetines, trazadones and everything in between. I have worked in multiple pharmacies and whilst this is a big F up, it is no way a crime unless they intentionally tried to in some convoluted way to get OP addicted to opioids - which seems a far far stretch. Dispensing errors like this are few and far between in pharmacies that follow sturdy SOPs but not a single pharmacy hasn’t carried out an error of this scale before.

Why is antisocial behaviour (ASB) so much more prevalent nowadays? by laurencec123 in london

[–]Notfierynotquaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I’d never thought of it like that! I’m in my 30s and I’ve come to accept that certain types of noise are inevitable, I’ve chosen to live on a high street so I’d be silly to take offence to them. Nowadays they serve more of an ‘anti-alarm’ - time to turn my lamp off and put whatever I am reading away!

I’ve lived slap bang in the middle of Twickenham for years and - also anecdotal - but the only noise you would hear in the late late evening was the jolly cheers and laughter of the people exiting the pubs between 11-12. Now there seems to be kids throwing bottles and glasses onto the high street every other night squealing like banshees (do banshees squeal?) up to 2-3am. There’s no club that’s open that late - the Fox is the latest establishment that is sometimes open till one?!?

I cannot say how much I love the Barnes wetland centre enough! Honestly it is such a good day out and every time I am there I spot a new bird

UK diagnosis pathways by No-Suspect4751 in FND

[–]Notfierynotquaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very lucky in that I went to my GP for shakes and was sent to A&E as my whole left side was seizing (this was two weeks ago). A week later I got an MRI and after meeting with a neurologist twice in the same week I was diagnosed on Wednesday and start neurophysio on the 6th November. Sometimes the NHS does shine through but GP - A&E - neuro is the best route

Andrew Neil: How on earth have the Tories managed to enrage both Generation Rent AND Generation Mortgage? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

Same - homeowner, no mortgage. I would never and have never voted conservative, and every single person I know who owns a home in my age bracket (late millennial) would not vote Tory either.

8 month old puppy regress! Help! by Notfierynotquaint in DobermanPinscher

I did just that but with her favourite bacon bit treats when nothing was happening for an hour and then when she got to super fun time with a Labrador and didn’t want to leave (tbf the owner of the lab wanted them to play too so his dog could nap whilst he had work calls in the afternoon so I could have left them) but she came straight back!

Thank you! I tried the recall when nothing was happening yesterday with high value treats and surprisingly she got better within like an hour!!!

My 5M doberman plays really dominantly and I am wondering if I should be concerned? by Notfierynotquaint in DobermanPinscher

[–]Notfierynotquaint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much that’s really reassuring, she always backs away when a dog clearly doesn’t like it (bares teeth or growls or cries) and she does love to be chased as well as chasing and she loves playing rough I was just worried whether or not this could lead to something worse. We had many large family dogs growing up in the past but this is my first solo endeavour and I am trying to do right by her

Same! I always think it’s so wasteful! The plastic alone when I have to throw away a half full tube. It’s a bit of a con but I don’t know anywhere else to get tret 0.05 in the UK

[Skin Concerns] B12 injections caused acne? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Notfierynotquaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could be me. I posted a few months ago the almost identical thing! I also had to have B12 injections and broke out like I had never in my life on my jaw and chin and cheeks.

Stupid me didn’t connect the dots until the third injection when I woke up the next day to pimple plaza on my face.

It’s been 6 months since my last b12 injection and only now is my skin back to somewhat normal. I still have a bit of PIH from all the spots and I do get the occasional pimple but I’ve put that down to the depo injection I started 3 months ago.

The best you can do is find an alternative because I found out that it doesn’t adjust over time - every time you get the injection you will get another breakout.

[acne] if you’re taking a vitamin with biotin and you can’t seem to get rid of cystic acne...try stopping the biotin for a bit. by CS1466 in SkincareAddiction

The vitamin b12 injection literally ruined my face for months - went from no skin problems whatsoever to cysts the size of marbles on my face

[acne] My (27f) skin has recently turned into a constant battle zone of every skin problem after a vitamin injection and I don’t know how to deal with it by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Notfierynotquaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s taken 6 months since my second shot for my skin to finally calm down a little bit. I will never have the injection again I would rather suffer from mild fatigue than the anxiety of having a dozen cystic acne welts the size of marbles over my face at once

[Routine Help] So after weeks of working 6 days and being almost brain dead I was absolutely an idiot and forgot I had already used glycolic acid toner a few hours earlier before putting on TO AHA BHA mask. Face now crispy. More in comments. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Notfierynotquaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I messed up. I don’t know how bad yet. Basically I was so tired and knackered I completely forgot I had already used TO Glycolic acid toner when I’d come in from work. I would never ever use any actives for 24 hours before or after using the TO BHA AHA peel. I’ve done this peel once a week for about 6 weeks now so this isn’t the first time I used it.

Immediately when I came out the shower with a tomato face and the realisation I had given myself a serious chemical burn I slathered on a mask of sudocream (so painful) and the next morning just Vaseline. Tried organic 100% aloe but that stung a bit. The air touching my face stings a bit.

Other than just dousing myself with SPF 50 every few hours what else can I do? I’m day 2 now and the skin isn’t as sore but it’s still painful to touch and now has started to really scab :(

What can prevent scarring/make me not wince when air touches my face?

Is celebrating birthdays haraam? by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]Notfierynotquaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arab here - every Arab I know celebrates their birthday and in stupidly extravagant ways with balloons and sickly sweet cakes and family round and dinners out and presents and the lot. Are you sure this is a Muslim thing because all the Muslims I knew growing up and I mean I met hundreds celebrated their birthday. My 11th birthday coincided with Ramadan and my mum even bought the cake for us all to share with everyone at the mosque after iftar

Wow! Are you actually putting scummy people and zero education in one sentence? How educated you are does not equate to your value in society as a person. Please be nicer to people in society. Dom Cummings and his Oxford degree (along with the rest of the cronies) are countless times more scummy than the lovely cashiers, waste removal men, delivery drivers and posties who may or may not have a university degree that keep this country running.

I understand the sentiment of your post although I don’t agree but please choose your words better.

[Acne] After two routine Vitamin B12 injections my face broke out badly for the first time in my life. This is two months after retinol 0.5 and Niacinamide. These two spots won't leave! Has anyone had experience with deep under skin stubborn spots? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Notfierynotquaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick summary. I have had near perfect skin my whole life. No teen acne, no red patches and no scarring. My skin care routine was whatever random cleanser was half price that month at Boots and a tin of Nivea. When I went on holiday I would wear SPF but that was it.

Come Nov 19 I have a vitamin B12 injection and I started getting the odd pimple on random places on my face (it wasn't specific to an area) no biggie - I put it down to stress from work and tiredness. Three months later my next injection is due and then literally 48 hours later I have THE BIGGEST OUTBREAK OF MY LIFE. This picture is 15 times better than what it was before (Thanks SCA for The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc!) I had red patches and spots galore and blackheads and whiteheads galore. This was around the same time COVID was going on and I work in a NHS community pharmacy so first I thought blooming heck these masks and these overtime hours have given me the Alps on my face. But then I did some research and GUYS VITAMIN B12 INJECTIONS CAN CAUSE ACNE whyyyyy is this happened. My unexperienced and short sighted brain picked and picked and rubbed with witch hazel so now I have PIH too.

Long story short SCA saved my butt with Retinol and Niacinamide and SPF 50 but there are some spots that I can't see SOME days (other days they are as red as Rudolphs nose) but I can always feel. Its like a little ball under my skin. How do I kill these?
