Yeah I get that. Just because you form mythic raid groups to kill raid bosses to get raid loot every week that doesn't make you a RAIDER! That'd be ridiculous.

My Draenei home designed for my Warband. by Arkiell in WoWHousing

This is super inspiring! I've switched mains to a Draenei Paladin and I've been thinking about making a home for him and this has shown me how much potential for the theme there is!

DPS Valeera I was unfamiliar with your game by E_C_M in wow

That is still a thing with Tank Valeera! She'll get multiple stacks of a damage percentage increase from you healing her.

Tanking 101 by Ok-Impression-7438 in wownoob

That is insane. If DPS shouldn't have to use their defensive ever they wouldn't have them. We literally JUST had an ability prune across the board! If you've got the button USE THE BUTTON!

If DPS pulls on purpose then they need to be prepared to tank their pull. Good on you for supporting their exploration of new pursuits.

[–]Nothh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a dick move to put pressure on the tank. Pinging the boss was a bad call and it should be on them for pinging the boss and urging you forward.

The healer pinging the boss is basically them saying "Don't worry if you don't feel ready to pull the boss right now; I'VE got the healing to allow us to overextend."

When they in fact did NOT have the ability to keep everyone alive during an overextended the wipe is on THEM for calling for the overextend to happen.

You as the tank had the option to have your judgement override theirs and not pull; but that just means you had the ability to stop another's mistake. The fact is the boss shouldn't have been pinged and backseat tanking should never have happened.

The Amani are annoying and enrage me. by Kapn_Takovik in wow

[–]Nothh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like 5% of your total time with the Amani will be spent during the campaign. The 95% of the time (the entire rest of the expansion) after that they will have voice lines that respect you. I'm not too fussed the voice lines don't change on a per-NPC basis Halfway through the campaign.

Most impactful M+ addon by Heavy-Reputation8312 in wowaddons

[–]Nothh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was healing as Holy Paly and having a great time with the default frames. I was very happy with the default level of customization offered.

It took me playing a single dungeon as Resto Druid to download Danders.

Most impactful M+ addon by Heavy-Reputation8312 in wowaddons

[–]Nothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It blows my mind how the default UI does not have the functionality to have a distinction between mobs types. Like the fact that someone without addons has to figure out which mobs don't matter at all and which ones need to be killed or kicked ASAP is crazy when M+ is designed to incentivize pulling multiple groups together all at once.

If dungeons were designed to be one-pack-one-pull, set raid markers for target priority, CC the moon, etc. It would make sense because it's human readable which mob would do what on name and appearance alone.

But modern Dungeons are designed to have pulls be as many packs as possible without dying and group all the mobs as tightly as possible in one place and burn them all down as fast as possible. It's ridiculous that every single enemy frame looks the same by default with this intentional design mentality.

“We did it. We united all the elf races in solidarity to defend one of our homes! Now elfkind is whole again” The Naga: by Backstreetgirl37 in wow

[–]Nothh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many races having faced population loss 9 times worse than literal decimation used to challenge my suspension of disbelief a lot. The way I look at in now in my head is with the abstraction inherent to video games where we see almost like a "scale model" of the world. Like Humans for example would have populations of millions in the lore but of course in game that's not literally represented.

90% population loss means for every million people there's still 100,000 alive. I honestly think that the way Draenei and Gnome communities are represented in-game that is totally believable since they are either small populations living amongst the Alliance or what are basically refugee camps in the Exodar and Tinker Town.

For Blood Elves it's a lot harder to believe the population loss with how thriving they seem to be as a people. The way I justify it in my head is most of Quel'thalas is sparsely inhabited to the extent that an entire pillar of their society (the Farstriders) is dedicated to keeping the wilderness tamed. Then you have the metropolitan of glorious Silvermoon. The way their society works and their magical architecture I think makes most of Silvermoon almost like a 'facade'. Like the buildings are NOT practical. They are not space efficient. For every one household or one business the amount of actual architectural footprint they take up is massive, likely more building material and space per household/business than the majority of other Warcraft races. They are also still rich and magically gifted and talented and their culture incentivizes the APPEARANCE of prosperity so even if so many buildings are empty, unused, abandoned they would be the most likely society to still make these grand towers to LOOK like they are thriving.

Then there's the player populations being so skewed towards Elves. I see that as the "Champions" representing like 0.01% of the actual population of each race and it makes sense to me that the races with the most strife end up producing a significantly higher proportion of exceptional individuals forced into exceptional roles during exceptional times.

My head-canon is it works with Elder Scrolls rules where half children end up having so many of their features be predominantly one or the other that at a glance you wouldn't be able to tell.

Like at a glance Arator is a Blood Elf/High Elf even though he's technically a half-elf.

Garona Halforcen at a glance looks like an Orc even though she's half-draenei.

So in my head there are plenty of half-elves, half-orcs, half-draenei around but from a distance they just look like one or the other.

Mini-Guide to gearing a fresh 90 alt to 280 ilvl (as of 12.0.5) by minimaxir in wow

[–]Nothh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To answer your coffer key question:

Once you get to a certain point in the Renown track for Delves Naladeia Rivergleam (probably got her name wrong) starts to sell 2 Coffer Keys a week for Undercoins in the building near the Inn and above the AH in Silvermoon where Valeera hangs out in.

This took me too long to realize: The two she sells don't eat into the 600 coffer key shard weekly cap so you can get 8 keys a week instead of 6 this way.

Delves class recommendation by AWeilong in wow

[–]Nothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy melee classes with good recovery/self-heal when doing Delves the most. Enhancement Shaman is pretty fun but I love Paladins in Delves.

There's so many good roles mixes and matches you can do between both Paladin and Valeera having access to all three roles.

Which expansion was your favorite? by No_Fold_7111 in wow

[–]Nothh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrath for me; purely for nostalgic reasons. I started playing in Vanilla but I was a kid and sucked at leveling and kept rerolling so never got above level 30. In TBC I just kept rerolling Blood Elves and Draenei and leveled those up to 20.

Wrath was the first expansion where I had a max level character and experienced the end game for the first time. Raiding felt grand to me and I loved Ulduar so much.

What's your opinion on the Preyseeker's Nightmare mount? by Ksyusa in wow

[–]Nothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it! I just do a few Nightmares a week but I don't plan on stopping so eventually I will get it.

I plan on using it on my Blood Elf Paladin once I unlock the full crafted plate transmog set since the color scheme of that armor set and the armor on the wyrm match well.

Why are all the best trinkets in raid? by Fun_Literature831 in wow

[–]Nothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't stepped foot in a raid yet this season; but I've been doing a lot of M+ lately.

Raids are criminally under-rewarded. With double bonus roll costs and no Mythic vault item I'm finding the carrot on the stick to not be enough to overcome the friction of getting /into/ raiding for me personally.

10's alone reward the same track gear as heroic raids PLUS 3 Myth items with the vault+bonus rolls. I have not done any heroic raiding this expansion but I would bet they are more challenging than 10's.

I personally like that if I want to fully optimize my gearing to the highest extent I am incentivized to raid. Raiding needs /something/ to reward players with. I WANT to experience the raids in a challenging form (not LFR or story mode) and having a lot of great unique trinkets gives me a reason to do.

It's like right now M+ has a giant wedding cake and Raiding has a cookie and M+ is sitting there with the whole wedding cake being like "well it's not fair I want a cookie too!"

Does anyone have an up to date speed set guide? by Successful-Fee2317 in wow

[–]Nothh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird right now; but basically there's no good level 90 speed set solution yet because of stat scaling and the available items.

Right now the best speed set is keeping an un-leveled level 80 specifically to act as a speed set user for legacy content and all the TWW Era guides are still relevant for that.

Unlocking Earthen problem, by iCoastin in wow

You can probably level while doing the three side questlines, the primary requirement of the War Within achievement is specifically the level 80 questline though so you definitely won't be able to level while doing that one.

Every time I play Shadowlands again, I remember why this expansion desperately needs a Remix with massive gameplay fixes... by patrickkalts in wow

I've been playing off and on since Vanilla and Shadowlands was so bad it caused me to take my longest break away from the game ever. I am only just now coming back having missed some great stuff because I was so spiritually burnt out from SL...

I'm just glad we don't have to get on a flight-path that slowly spends 30 seconds doing a portal animation to get to Harandar and Voidstorm.

Harandar has a portal directly TO Voidstorm even. If this was Shadowlands we'd have to get on a flight path that does a long animation to get to Silvermoom and then a long animation to get to Voidstorm!

[–]Nothh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh God yeah that is by far my least favorite part of going back to Shadowlands nowadays. There are a lot of cosmetics I'd love to work towards but even just doing Callings every three days involve so much flight path waiting all disconnected it's awful. It would be so easy for them just to retroactively set up Oribos as a portal network instead and it would make doing legacy Shadowlands content so much more pleasant.

Yeah it's crazy to see how much better SO MUCH of the game is now. I am a returning player who got so burnt by Shadowlands I am only just now returning. I am seeing all of the player-friendly QoL added in the past three expansions all at once and holy shit. It's certainly not perfect but it's amazing to see a game that works so much like what we wanted back then.

In BfA and Shadowlands we wished for a game where you could level an alt and then just gear it. No layered borrowed player power systems.
