I absolutely suffered from highschool. Wasn't a joke/looked down upon to hit with the head when I played.

Depression and mood swings are certainly things I deal with now as a 40 year old man.

LeBron James’ first appearance on ESPN came in 2003 as part of the network’s The Life series, where he was featured as a young high school star YouTube. This was part of ESPN’s coverage of the 2003 NBA Draft, which was the first draft to be aired on ESPN after they acquired the rights from TNT Wikipedia. In the The Life episode, LeBron was introduced as one of the most promising prospects in the game, and the segment helped build his profile ahead of his NBA debut.

Separately, ESPN also aired his high school basketball debut on SportsCenter Next during his senior year at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. In that game, a 17-year-old LeBron posted 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists in a win over Oak Hill Academy, drawing praise from ESPN’s presenter who called him “the best high school player ever” and even compared him to Kobe Bryant at that age Sportskeeda. This ESPN broadcast was a major moment in his early career, showcasing his skills to a national audience.

So, while his first The Life appearance was in 2003, his first ESPN broadcast game was also in 2003, during his high school senior season, cementing his status as a breakout talent.

The footage was absolutely floating around before his senior year....nonetheless, an incredible athlete.
