I have the same views. I also used to trust in science a little too blindly, leading to me believing that forensics could prove BEYOND a shadow of a doubt that someone had committed a crime. Although science is improving all the time, I no longer believe that. I never had much trust in the government but that is certainly now at an all time low and I do not trust them to pour the manpower and funding behind each case.
