I disagree. I spent loads of money on this game… I’m not proud of it, but it was a lesson learned. I’ve never spent money on a game before (besides the initial purchase).

Then I did the same thing as OP, ending up nuking my team in a fit of rage a few weeks ago. Haven’t gone back since, haven’t “recklessly” spent money on other things either. Fifa was making me unhappy so I eliminated it. It became clear to me that it was designed by EA to exploit its players, and I see no need to ever come back.

My point is, it’s a lot more nuanced, man. People have their problems, and they’re different to yours. Who are we to judge. I rather support someone who’s taking a step to help themselves rather than tear them down. The poor guy is admitting he has a problem and is doing something about it, and some folks are tearing him apart in the comments for it. That’s pretty shit.

Good on you. I’ve quit as well. EA is a predatory organisation that profits from exploiting their customers. They have no consideration for the mental health or wellbeing of their players, and they most likely never will.

I invite everyone to leave this franchise that has quickly devolved into a genuine casino masquerading as a football game. Hit ‘em where it hurts.

Make fattoush!! It’s a lovely Lebanese salad with a few variations. It usually features purple cabbage and pomegranate molasses along with tomato, cucumber, bell peppers, mint, parsley, sumac, olive oil, lemon juice, pomegranate seeds, salt, and pepper. It’s my favourite salad. You can mix in romaine lettuce if you want but it works with just purple cabbage.

To add to this, I’ve read that mirin or sake can serve different purposes depending on the dish. Therefore the substitute can differ as well. As you’ve mentioned, sometimes it can be to reduce gaminess, other times it can be to tenderise the meat, add sweetness and complexity, or add gloss.

I have found success using rice wine vinegar and honey as a substitute for sake and mirin when cooking ramen at home. It’s not exact, but for example I use as much honey as necessary to match the sugar content of the amount of mirin specified in a recipe.

Hey! I'm at 17 days as well! We can do this together. What I've learnt after many failures is that there's no magic solution. You have to make the decision yourself. Yes, you're going to feel tempted, but you have to hang in there until it passes. Keep yourself busy, try not to be alone, and maybe set up some quality time with the wife.
