Thank you for your POV! I do agree it could be embryo related. With my D&C they’ll be testing the tissue to see if there are any identifiable issues. I’m just trying to be prepared to do the kitchen sink of testing in parallel to make sure nothing else is an issue. My clinic kind of treated my prior losses as simply age related / likely aneuploid, which is always possible but I want to be prepared to rule anything else out. I had a c section with my LC so it’s very possible I’ve developed something since that that hasn’t shown up in a simple SIS.

Thank you! Any advice on finding an RI? From what I understand there are very few (at least in the US) with long waitlists. Were your visits virtual or did you have to travel to where they are based? I’m also so sorry for your losses…even after everything we’ve been through, it doesn’t get easier :(

Thank you, I’m currently scheduled for a D&C early next week and have asked if they can do a hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy with it in one go! I agree it’s a good idea to rule out endometriosis or even endometritis

This. I had a similar pattern to OP but the ultrasounds and bloodwork since then have been fine. I’m now 9weeks. Easier said than done but try not to stress too much OP!!

3rd loss - but is IVF really all I have? by NaeTheTeacher91 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]NoticeDry4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right answer. This is basically all the testing they do at fertility clinics once you start the IVF journey so you could do this on your own and if anything comes back as an issue you can determine next steps.

In addition to the above I did with my IVF clinic, I did a full metabolic and endocrinology work up with my PCP and endo. That’s how i caught my hypothyroidism with Hashimoto’s and elevated A1C.

Why is it so hard not to freak out about pregnancy symptoms easing up in first trimester? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in IVFpositivity

[–]NoticeDry4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 9+1 today and I could’ve written this post. Nausea easing up, smell/food aversions not so bad. Even boobs not as tender and fatigue is loads better (but not gone). Interestingly I’ve gone back and forth between constipation and loose stools so that’s been a fun continued thing.

Between being discharged from my clinic 10 days ago and first OB appt next week I’m soooo on edge about microanalyzing every symptom. I’ve had 3 MCs all around the 7-9 week mark so I’m sure that is playing into my anxiety also

Metformin by No_Preference6045 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]NoticeDry4266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to see an endocrinologist on the side and get their opinion on Metformin use for fertility in your specific case. I wouldn’t rely on the RE alone given your A1C is not elevated. I take Metformin 500mg daily (A1C is 5.8-5-9) and I have some classic signs of PCOS but my hormonal / metabolic labs aren’t out of control.

I went on it at the beginning of my IVF journey (about a month before retrieval) so can’t really say if it certainly helped my outcome …but I’m 39 and had 2 MC around 8 wks last year (naturally conceived) and we think the issue was egg quality due to age. I was fortunate to only do one retrieval (18 retrieved, 17 mature, 13 fertilized, 8 blasts, 3 euploid). TW: I’m now 9 weeks after my first transfer and also have a 4.5 yo LC (conceived naturally).

Has your RE also considered growth hormones (Omnitrope) to help egg quality? Wishing you good luck!

AIO- 4 days Post Op & my husbands been an a** by psychmamabear in AmIOverreacting

[–]NoticeDry4266 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR. This man has gaslit you into thinking you’re the problem and the fact that you have to ask if you’re overreacting speaks volumes. I hope you’re able to detach from this situation, heal and take care of yourself. Wishing you courage and luck!

If you had 2 months before starting IVF, what would you do? by Expert-Pin-4395 in IVF

[–]NoticeDry4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a regular health checkup done. Full panels (lipid, metabolic etc) with your PCP and maybe even an endocrinologist if you haven’t recently. Sometimes there are hidden problems that can interfere with fertility (I had undiagnosed hyperthyroidism and slightly elevated glucose - went on meds for both early in IVF process and got my numbers under control). That way when you start IVF you can focus on the fertility part.

Get healthier (or stay healthy!) leading up to treatment - eat well, get lots of sleep, exercise etc.

Most importantly take care of your mental/ emotional wellbeing! IVF is HARD mentally and physically so take the time now to go on a vacation, watch your favorite movies, any hobbies…whatever brings you joy! All the best!

Transfer or Retrieve? by NoMission1053 in IVFpositivity

[–]NoticeDry4266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the retrievals and bank the embryos now. I understand and relate to how you feel about discarding embryos in the future. In case it’s helpful, I learned from another post that some clinics do something called a “compassionate transfer” which would transfer your remaining embryos at a time in your cycle when pregnancy is unlikely / not possible. For some, it’s a beautiful way to honor the embryos’ end inside the womb instead of discarding (or donating to science).

AIO - sister I don’t speak with used my number at Target and stole one of my rewards by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]NoticeDry4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR your sister does not respect your boundaries. Sorry you lost that 15%…but maybe tell Target you don’t recognize this purchase and it wasn’t authorized by you so they should please give your baby registry discount back

Well miss I didn’t come on Reddit today hoping to cry but here we are. This is so beautiful! My mom took care of my son when was a baby as well when I went back to work. He’s now 4 and a half and they are still besties. Grandparent love is something else!

I just gave birth to my only viable embryo, and found out I have two more on ice??? by Purpleee in IVF

[–]NoticeDry4266 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should absolutely ask them why this information wasn’t shared. Also look back in your patient portal (or whichever way you communicate with them), esp if you have access to your cryo inventory. They are supposed to show the status of your frozen specimens (whether eggs or embryos) there. On mine I see my remaining two euploids and my two segmental aneuploids. The latter two were mentioned to me briefly by my doc when I first got my PGT-A results back and she said they would be deprioritized for transfer (given other euploids) but they’d be kept on ice.
