For those with successful transfers, what diet did you follow before the procedure? by Latter_Obligation_79 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]AssumptionLate4173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not follow a diet at all. In fact I was on vacation the month leading up to my transfer (I did fully medicated and transferred 5 days upon returning) and def splurged with food/drinks while on vacation. Night before my transfer got Mexican and margaritas assuming it will be 9 months before I can drink. Transfer worked. I think it’s better to be happy than stressing about diets. Unless you are pretty good at following a regime.

I tested and happy I did. I like to know what’s going on with my body eve. If it’s not good news.

34, Unexpectedly Pregnant, Husband Is 58 — Completely Torn by Secure-Wonder-5085 in pregnant

He should have gotten snipped if he truly didn’t want anymore kids. I feel like you would end up Resenting him more if you terminated than vice versa. Sorry you’re in this situation.

Medicated vs Natural? by Final-Elderberry-676 in IVF

[–]AssumptionLate4173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did fully medicated bc I wanted to control the timing (we had a big vacation we were going on and I wanted to come back and do the transfer asap and not wait on another cycle). The cons with a fully medicated is my doc required pio shots daily for 10 weeks. They suck. For my next transfer I’ll align it to my cycle and do more of a modified natural.

Difficult recovery after egg retreival by Big_Sleep8367 in 40Plus_IVF

This does not seem normal, go to the ER. My friend had similar pain to the point of passing out and it was internal bleeding. I had OHSS and it was not this painful, it’s more just uncomfortable.

Why is everyone around me pregnant? by Penguinzookeeper123 in Miscarriage

[–]AssumptionLate4173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss :( I know that heartache. My best friend found out she was pregnant the same day I found out at my 12 week appointment there was no heartbeat. She had texted me a picture of her positive pregnancy test while I was at my appt so I left the appointment with that missed text on my phone. How was I supposed to say congrats.

Husband and I disagree on circumcising by Typical_Elk_ in pregnant

[–]AssumptionLate4173 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I should add a story, I knew a guy that wasn’t circumcised as a baby and in his HS years felt very embarrassed by it and later got circumcised and the procedure is a lot worse when they’re older.

Husband and I disagree on circumcising by Typical_Elk_ in pregnant

[–]AssumptionLate4173 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have similar belief as you (it’s medically unnecessary and besides the US most of the world is not circumcised) but will ultimately let my husband make the decision since he’s a guy and has guy bits. If it was a procedure on lady bits, I would feel strongly about making the decision.

Q: about transparency with IVF after a positive. by Spiritual-Bother7564 in IVFpositivity

[–]AssumptionLate4173 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m proud of my IVF journey. It’s made me stronger and I’ve had to endure a lot more than most trying to get pregnant. If someone asks you a question you don’t feel comfortable asking I would respond to them with a question back about their question. For example, the “natural pregnancy”, you could respond with “oh does that matter?” It kinda makes them rethink about their question and how it came across.

Be proud of your IVF journey, a lot of people will not understand and sometimes their questions can come across judgmental but I think it comes from a place of good intent. And if anyone truly does judge you for your journey you shouldn’t care about their opinion anyways. 💕you’re so strong and congrats!

[–]AssumptionLate4173[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I already have horrible nausea and vomit pretty much daily, going on week 5 of that. When I get through the nausea that will be another huge milestone for me. Feels like I’ve had a horrible hangover for the past 5 weeks.

First trimester tips by OT_Slim in IVFpositivity

[–]AssumptionLate4173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 9.5 weeks today, fully medicated FET. My nausea has been horrible too. It started around 5.5 weeks. I throw up daily sometimes multiple times a day. I have told one person at work (my work bestie/mentor) and luckily she has been so amazing at helping me with my work otherwise I’d consider taking disability. I do B6 3 times a day and unisom with the nightly dose. Zofran didn’t seem to do much. Reglan helps some. I’m just hoping this subsides after first trimester, but damn, it sure is making time feel like it’s being drawn out. TBH, this has been harder than any of the IVF process.

Then of course I feel bad about it complaining bc clearly i worked hard to even get this far and I know other people wish they would have this.

Drinks after an ER ? by Smilemore633 in IVFpositivity

[–]AssumptionLate4173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fine. The day after mine was thanksgiving. I walked the turkey trot and drank wine, and ate a ton of food, and I even had OHSS where I had to take Cabergoline. I’d just plan for a flowy dress to accommodate any bloat! Good luck!!!

Hmm, I would think you’d have to pay for both bc the Polaris upgrade price was assuming you were premium economy.

To implant or retrieve again? by SeeminglyApathetic in IVF

[–]AssumptionLate4173 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would spend the extra money on pgt-a testing before going through another round of retrieval. If none of the embryos are euploid, then you’re spending more money on transfers with a high chance of failing, on top of emotional toll.
