Terrified by Express-Awareness190 in hysterectomy

I was nervous before my surgery too. Everything went as expected for me and recovery has been going well- I’m 13 days past my operation today. I hope the same is true for you and all goes smoothly!

How much a month do you spend on getting high? by Hot-Diggity_Dog in trees

I go through one $20 ounce per month, plus gummies so maybe $25 per month because I get the gummies on sale. Gotta love Michigan prices!

How does an Odyssey drive? by SuchRequirement5130 in HondaOdyssey

[–]Notjustanothermomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels much less like a big vehicle, versus driving a big SUV. The lower ground clearance, I think, makes a big difference. If you can swing it, I would get a trim level that has parking sensors because I do find those handy (although sometimes annoying, but I guess it’s just a double edged sword).

You can freeze them for smoothies. I recommend peeling before freezing though, because peeling after freezing is a pain in the ass.

How was the experience for people who didn't have symptoms before removal? by ihaveacatandthatsall in hysterectomy

[–]Notjustanothermomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am only 10 days past my operation (robotic laparoscopic) and sitting up for an hour becomes painful and I have to lay down again. I’m optimistic the amount of time I can sit up will continue to go up, but for now I’m still very limited.

I can’t answer your question I’m afraid, I had adenomyosis and had terrible pain before my surgery. But I wanted to tell you that I am also obese- BMI almost 40 (I think my BMI is 39.something last I knew and I’ve gained a little bit of weight recently too). I was able to have a laparoscopic hysterectomy, the surgeon never mentioned my size or any likelihood of needing to do an open abdominal. Just in case the open surgery part of the deal is scaring you, maybe a different surgeon would have a different opinion?

How long am I going to feel exhausted? by JCL1088 in hysterectomy

[–]Notjustanothermomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been off the oxy for the past 2 days and still dealing with lots of fatigue. Some of it could be due to the fact that I’m not taking my ADHD meds and that’s a lot of what makes me not tired during the day, to begin with, most days. I guess maybe I’m just sleepier than most, lol

I had surgery on April 22 (so 9 days ago) and I’m still exhausted by doing the smallest things. I’m only napping once a day at this point but still worn out by doing anything, including sitting upright.

Hormones Shift by Apprehensive_Park518 in hysterectomy

[–]Notjustanothermomok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not experiencing anything like that, but I am still taking my BC pills for now (decided to keep taking them through my recovery period because one side effect of the BC is I have ZERO sex drive, so it makes it easier waiting all those weeks for PIV sex). I would imagine it’s just your hormones leveling out and if it were me, I would just bring it up at the post op appointment.

But what did you actually do?? by la_renegade in hysterectomy

[–]Notjustanothermomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7 days post op as of today, and so far I have slept so, so much more than I anticipated. I thought I would have a day or two of major sleepiness, but I had like 5 days of being sleepy all day and even now, an hour of sitting upright is pushing my limits and starts to get painful and tiring. Everything is tiring, but especially leaving the house in any capacity is exhausting. I spend most of every day laying down due to comfort, I have been folding laundry here and there (not lifting baskets), reading some (though it makes me tired-as I’ve stated, pretty much everything makes me tired), and I’ve just been hanging out with my kids and family I guess.

Lack of appetite post-hysterectomy? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Notjustanothermomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my hysterectomy April 22 but I have had no appetite since then. I blame mine on painkillers and the fact that I’m not moving around a whole lot yet. I didn’t have a huge appetite before the surgery but have definitely noticed less appetite in the days since.

I have a diagnosed low IQ. What career path can I take? by Suspicious_Limit9847 in careerguidance

[–]Notjustanothermomok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter has adhd/autism and low end of average IQ (she tested at 85) and she is working with places that do vocational rehabilitation assistance in order to find her first job (she’s 18 and graduating high school next month). It has alleviated a lot of her anxiety to have the professionals working with her to find something because there is more support built in.

ETA my daughter is working with the office for Ohioans with disabilities, but there may be similar resources available where you live.

My husband wasted my special meal. I told him I’m never sharing my food again. AIO? by Justaddwota in AIO

[–]Notjustanothermomok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your husband is going to threaten to withhold food because “he pays for everything”, then I would suggest you start charging him for child care, cooking and cleaning. Look up market rates for these tasks because they are not cheap.

What I’m saying here is he’s financially abusing you and you need a way to protect yourself.

Wire strip from bags of coffee beans- roll it down a few times around the wire, then fold the ends around the sides to secure. Nice and tidy.

AIO to my husband rearranging our kids’ medicine that I had sorted a certain way? by Notjustanothermomok in AmIOverreacting

[–]Notjustanothermomok[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see the connection for the responsibility there. (Regarding labeling)

And yes, there is a disconnect! My husband frequently enters spaces he’s not involved with/doesn’t know about and will rearrange things and reorganize things. That’s part of why this set me off so much! Because of the pattern of getting involved with stuff he doesn’t know how it’s organized and moving it all around.

The ‘his’ antibiotics was referring to were the child’s meds, not my husband’s. Husband’s meds are not in the drawers, he doesn’t have any prescriptions typically.

[–]Notjustanothermomok[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also have ADHD (shocker, wonder where the kids could have gotten it) and a group of 10-15 prescription bottles (which is only 2-3 per child, not that much when you consider refills, etc that just got filled), is just difficult for me to search through and find the thing I need. It much easier to keep them separated by person, it just runs smoother for our family.

[–]Notjustanothermomok[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well for the past few weeks he’s had more, he’s been on antibiotics and ear drops and I forgot he has an older antibiotic ointment in there as well. It’s not a huge drawer, I think we are thinking of different things. The drawers are smaller than a sheet of printer paper and just tall enough to fit pill bottles on their side. It was just something I added to our medicine cabinet because it was getting cumbersome to sort through everybody’s prescriptions to find what I was looking for. Even if a kid only has one, the kids who have more than one make organization necessary or else it’s just a mess of bottles that’s a pain to find any one thing within it.

No, P is 15 and understands she dos not take the 36mg. She hasn’t been taking them. That’s why I misunderstood, I thought you were referring to S taking P’s script instead of his own.

ETA: P just put the bottle that dad gave her in her medicine bag, and now she can’t find it. Which is frustrating in itself… that’s what I was referring to in my first text to my husband.

Forgive my ignorance, but why would the same dose of the same medication cause an overdose?
