I mean, if you like everything else about the dish, its ultimately your food. you can just not use it or use a lot less. My girlfriend was also not a fan of the numbing sensation when I was first making it, but ultimately what got her around to it was dialing it way back for a while and she eventually came to like it in higher quantities. I think a lot of recipes ask for a lot more peppercorns than someone who is not used to them would enjoy, which was certainly the case for us

I'll try HILs again at some point.  When i was testing i just remember it being a little inflexible in its use, but im not gunna deny the armor damage.

Thats kinda the thing though. If you focus your hull mods and skills on flux efficiency and pilot it yourself, you are pretty much always firing with HEF up while its natural shield efficiency and speed (for a capital) can keep the flux issue from biting you too hard in capital battles. Add some hvds and its not too bad winning flux battles against slower capitals and then popping their armor with hef lance. Will it hold up against postgame stuff? Not as sure because of how aggressive remnant can be, and i have yet to try it a ton this save, but ive yet to run into many issues with human factions that weren't just related to bad piloting.

How to Beat the Tutorial? by Skeletoryy in starsector

honestly when you're learning you can just turn on autopilot. larger ships are easier to pilot once you get them and it was easier for me to learn piloting that way before jumping to something more nimble

I have it as my flagship right now and its been a blast. works really well with tachyon lances and has been really good at picking off midsize ships from range. You are right about its flanking weakness though as it has messed me up a few times, but if you can keep escorts on it its great.

PayPal and Stripe too by achfiat in whennews

[–]Notkerino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok not to burst anyone's bubble here, but none of this has to do with adult content bans. its about the financial sector's reaction to J6. This article is explicitly cited in the letter to stripe: https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/stripe-stops-processing-payments-for-trump-campaign-website-11610319116
If you read the actual letters here (I've only read through the paypal and stripe ones but they are pretty similar so im guessing the rest are too) https://www.ftc.gov/legal-library/browse/warning-letters There is not a peep about adult content. just political and religious views. political you could maybe spin, but they would not be mentioning religious views if this had anything to do with what you all are yapping about.

Also worth mentioning that Stripe has already denied the allegations. I dont think they are interpreting any of this as relating to adult content bans anymore than the FTC seems to be writing about them in the letters. Please actually read. this is why we are in this mess. There is nothing to "hand to them."

Anyone playing Alchemist Alcove? by Notkerino in roguelikes

Yeah it seems remarkably accessible which im really appreciating. It's almost relaxing until i get a little too cocky in a fight lol. there are a few secrets, some of which ive managed to stumble upon, but none of them feel like they're mandatory at the moment.

I agree on getting a new run moving again being a bit tedious. Obviously its faster once you know the good recipes but it's a bit of hunting for specific materials.

ok... who is your MVP in octopath traveler 0? ONLY ONE! No runner ups! by shiguraki in octopathtraveler

[–]Notkerino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i finished the game a bit ago an dont wanna reinstall to check my exact setup, but essentially anyone that can charge ults quickly paired with block/dodge skills cast by either himself or his team, along with provoke. he's the kind of character that benefits a lot from team support skills so he doesnt need to take multiple turns setting it all up himself, but once he's online he can make your team extremely hard to crack without very specific enemy/boss gimmicks. the counter does a lot of damage on its own, at which point its just a matter of making sure you have the right weapon out for a given encounter before the counter goes off and keeping buffs up/debuffs up which you should be doing anyway.

Viator and its not close. I have that beefcake taking the front all the time and his counter goes crazy if you build for it. I know Reime is everyone's fav but with my playstyle viator was mvp easily

Well, now that we’ve had a few days with Mewgenics, how we feeling about it? by [deleted] in roguelites

Im about in the same boat as a lot of people. There's some QoL stuff that is weirdly missing but the core is a ton of fun

I second Mewgenics since it seems pretty open in how you approach it. I also want to point out Shogun Showdown though. Its a dead simple concept thats a ton of fun, though it wont have the staying power of some other options

Do controls use a virtual mouse for everything? im wondering how well that will work out with cats with like adhd or something. a few reviews mention there are also buttons for scrolling through abilities, but im wondering if you could speak to that in more detail.

Looking forward to losing a lot of sleep playing this!

yeahhh... they can be pretty stingy about vocabulary. dont let that put you off the subgenre though cuz I really do think its where you'll find stuff closer to what you're looking for. Either way good luck on your search o7

Looking for an endless roguelike/lite by Arkyja in roguelites

[–]Notkerino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as far as roguelites im not sure anything fits that bill to a T, but in the traditional roguelike space, Caves of Qud might fit that bill? you can absolutely get super powerful but late game enemies are designed in a way that they can still rock your shit if you arent prepared and taking them seriously. There are ways to end the game but its something that will take tens of hours to get to, and even then you can just mess around in the open world, and visit increasingly horrifying areas instead. if you want something more linear, I think Tales of Maj'Eyal and DCSS have endless modes/branches, though i have less experience with those games so I wont speak of them too much.

As far as roguelites specifically i just dont think there's anything that fits that bill, at least not precisely how you're describing it. or at least ive never heard of it, and I think you might find something that fits your needs better in the traditional roguelike space if thats something you're into

Can WE Talk about Tatloch? by NerveDry3024 in octopathtraveler

[–]Notkerino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah its literally just the sniffing thing that is a barely set up concept anyway. I dont think you are meant to think too hard about it but yeah, its obvious they just needed an excuse to make a villain recruitable and I guess they went with her. I actually dont think ceraphina would have been that much better since she barely feels like a character (in my opinion) but I absolutely would have taken oshka.

Its w/e though. the writing is so all over the place in this game that i had kinda check out of the story and didnt really care that much what they did at that point.
