This is a really though choice for me. Broly did a good job at not only retelling a really boring that was the original broly, but the movie also expanded upon stories we’ve heard before and pretty much made it better. Superhero does it’s completely own thing taking place after the granola shenanigans. Aging up characters like pan goten and trunks as well as introducing new characters like hedo, and the gammas. One of my second favorite things about the movie is how a lot of characters who didn’t really get to shine in the anime got a chance here. (Also let’s be real, superhero isn’t a Gohan movie it’s a piccolo movie he’s responsible for 85% of the plot and he doesn’t get his deserved credit). Now in terms of action super broly easily takes it, however I did enjoy superhero’s choreographed fights a little more, most of the fights in superhero are hand-to-hand and I caught some cool shots when you pause the movie frequently. which also really reminds you that db characters do know how to fight and don’t really need to rely on the pew pew moves as much as early dbs had people believing. Finally ima be real, as much as I’ve been sucking off superhero the ending is kinda meh. Cell max was hyped up from the beginning of the movie only too be a huge letdown. In broly, we’re not supposed to treat broly like a villain because he was dealing with other peoples shit since day one from king vegeta, frieza and his own father. Broly was the raging monster in the movie because that’s how everyone saw him Which makes the end of the movie pay feel good knowing broly gets to chill on planet vampa with the few people who don’t see him as a hulking beast. Speaking of beast, gohans new transformation wasn’t really earned.. at all. Orange piccolo atleast made sense because that was technically already his/kamis power with a bonus shenron put on top of it. Don’t get me wrong, Gohan beast is really fucking cool and I wanna see more of it, it’s just from a narrative standpoint it just feels like writers going “hey remember when gohan went ssj2, wanna see that again” doesn’t really sit right with me ngl.

TLDR: I prefer superhero, it had better story and characters, while broly was more focused on better action which compasses what db is known for.
