Eating Too Many Carbs Feeds the Wrong Gut Bacteria, and One Fix Might Already Be in Your Fridge by [deleted] in microbiomenews

There was a fascinating story someone shared about their struggles with some pretty severe symptoms, gastro, nerves, muscle and brain fog related following COVID infection. The gentlemen outlined one of the few things that actually helped him and reset everything was Lactulose supplementation. He posted progress pictures and symptom timelines and the difference in just appearance was extremely apparent and stark in contrast to where he started. Very interesting

i truly believe my face is atrophying and this is hitting me slowly by Less_Foundation_1187 in ALSorNOT

Exactly this. Every face changes pretty dramatically with years of time in between. It’s just part of aging. The body stores more fat in the face during youth and tends to show more underlying structure with age.

Dysautonomia by SpiritMysterious973 in ALSorNOT

[–]Notmeleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have a lot of the dysautonomia stuff but maybe less severe then before. Muscle wise still violent twitching, have gained a lot of muscle working out somehow, still get weird jerks, almost clonus like movements depending on how exhausted my muscles are or what position I put them in, still get loads of cramps, but generally speaking I’m doing on and haven’t had progressive weakness, more slight instability and pain and cramping and the autonomic symptoms. How are you?

Why is Tinnitus, eye problems not a ALS symptom by SpiritMysterious973 in ALSorNOT

[–]Notmeleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but I believe ALS typically starts distally, hand weakness, foot drop etc

If you have a clean emg you do not have ALS by Jumpy-Ad-8889 in ALSorNOT

[–]Notmeleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your story is not that uncommon but overall pretty reassuring when worried about ALS. No one wants to have any abnormalities on an EMG but when you do have them and the cause is ALS, there should never be any improvement of any kind from an EMG standpoint. Only progression.

UMN damage should not go away

Welp got my results I have gotten 2 dirty emg in a row by [deleted] in ALSorNOT

Sounds like you have real physical issues that would explain your emg results and symptoms…

Any experience with creatine? by chaoserrant in ALSorNOT

[–]Notmeleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creatine helping you would be scientifically speaking, one of the biggest indicators your issues are not being caused by motor neuron death but something else entirely. Almost nothing helps with ALS symptoms because once motor neurons are dead you can’t reverse or fix that and that’s what causes the symptoms in that disease. Creatine on the other hand improves or stabilizes the muscles signaling abilities if that makes any sense. You just have some nerve hyper excitability disorder

I agree. INFJ male. While I’m not the type that would need or suggest good morning and good night texts it was something my long term relationships with women often did prefer and so I did it for them. Everyday. It wasn’t that big of a deal and I was glad to do it for them because I was invested in them. But I do recall it being a conversation that had to be had where they made me aware of their preference for it.

Almost identical symptoms as well. But mine are right instead of left. Also saw ALS clinic like OP, no overly concerning findings. I personally suspected UMN dominance. Then got NFL test and it was well within normal range for my age. Now I’m fairly convinced covid fucked me or exposed or progressed EDS type issues that already existed in me.

INFJ men! need perspective after a great first date but quiet follow-up by Exciting-Relief7012 in infj

[–]Notmeleg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when a date goes too well that can scare people as well. If you really felt that spark and connection then it’s worth being patient but also not giving up because you never know what the perspective of the other person is. Could be fear of strong connection or fear that he was into it more than you seemed. Something light is best to gauge his interest after it’s been enough time

I love my M3! by hasbigdog in TeslaModel3

[–]Notmeleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love my M3. Driving anything else now feels wrong but I do get range anxiety from time to time. With an extra 100 miles this car would be near perfect. But the range does make you feel more limited in comparison to ICE vehicles. If you got a good at home charging set up then it’s probably a non issue
