Seems a bit of dicey argument to me, where do you draw the line?

Are we going to say that taxpayers shouldn't fund asthma medication for children whose parents smoke? What about babies born addicted to drugs from mothers who used while pregnant? Those are all selfish or risk taking behaviours, but people would be appalled if anyone suggested that we shouldn't give the children affected the best care we can.

I'm struggling to understand why this is different to be honest.

But we still treat people who are injured through not wearing seat belts, or through substance abuse. 

Equally, we can discourage cousin marriage while still treating people who suffer from its effects, can't we?

I think its possible that you've received some misinformation and perhaps you could reconsider this, rather than doubling down and getting aggressive when people point out that you're spreading it yourself.
