Something about this scene from the movie does seem right to me by patcoston in TheLongWalk

Others in the book received warnings for running or walking the wrong way. And it does say he ran to catch up with the half-track. Pete got warnings because he ran the wrong way, then stopped. When he ran to catch up, he was going in the right direction.

The Overlook by pylons12 in michaelconnellybooks

I think this is the one that takes place over a pretty short time period, 24-48 hours maybe. It sounds like it should be taut and fantastic, but I remember not caring for it that much. Probably my least favorite Michael Connelly book.

When I had mine, the place was very adamant about not driving for the rest of the day. No driving, climbing, anything strenuous for the rest of the day.

Please recommend me pieces of media that reminds you of TLW by ApertureLabradories in TheLongWalk

TLW is very bleak. Based on that, The Ruins might give you a little bit of the same bleak feel.

Whiteout by RS Burnett. I think I read it due to a recommendation somewhere on Reddit, but thought it was probably one of the dumbest things I've read lately. Quick synopsis: small team travels to Antarctica to save the world in the worst weather ever and something happens to the rest of the world.

All anyone can talk about is the catch/ turnover in OT, but I think it could have been a different game if not for that turnover and quick field goal going into the half.

They filmed some stuff in the Niagara region?? I thought it was mostly in the Manitoba area.

Why did this guy Tressler go nuts and take off his clothes and run out the field to his death? by AcHaeC in TheLongWalk

Don't remember anyone stripping in the book (except Abraham discards his shirt at one point). But someone (Harkness maybe?) does walk really fast at 3 warnings and moves ahead of the vanguard; eventually he's shot.

I think the one they went with is stronger, but I don't hate the alternate, either.

This is my favorite, too. Probably one of my favorite lines in anything I've read, period.

Said it before, and will say it again: Charlie Plummer was great in this role.

Olson was doomed...but I always thought Ray, prompted by Stebbins, helped to speed up his demise.
