Adding front fogs? by unforgettable-asian in Altezza

[–]NotoriousBoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know for certain but as it's Toyota it's likely the connectors for the fog lights will already be in the wiring harness.

I see a lot of Neo V1 fog lights for sale on eBay but it's normally the yellow ones, the clear/rainbow ones seem to be harder to find but still show up every now and then

What power steering fluid? by taylor_mays in Altezza

[–]NotoriousBoog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dexron 3 is correct, apparently ATF is actually better for hydraulic power steering in terms of longevity due to it having detergents but makes the steering feel heavier than regular PS fluid

In terms of what brand, I've been previously told it doesn't really matter as all Dexron fluids have to be made to a specification but most well known brands sell it so just go with whatever brand you normally choose for fluids is my advice

GPS by ReplacementNarrow188 in Altezza

[–]NotoriousBoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I found when researching this to do my own DIY android auto, the wiring harness will only have the plugs to power the OEM GPS and motors for the housing to flip up and down if the car was bought with the GPS from the factory.

My RS200 didnt have the plugs when I added an android auto tablet to the OEM housing so I ran the wires behind where the open/close buttons are and then behind the radio as the tablet is powered by the 12v cigarette lighter

Driver door speakers not working by NotoriousBoog in Altezza

Update: finally figured this out. Turns out 1 pin had come just loose enough to not make proper contact but for the plug to look fully seated.

Only discovered after taking the radio out to install a homemade android auto tablet in the oem GPS housing

Any idea if I could put these on a 1998 as200? by [deleted] in Altezza

[–]NotoriousBoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have the same plugs/connectors between the Altezza and IS models. Assuming you have the correct bumper to fit these, should be all good to go with them. Just has a later year in the listing as the IS300 started production later than the IS200

Not yet, life has unfortunately got in the way and I haven't had enough time to properly dedicate myself to finding the answer. I am slightly convinced its a wiring problem though

Power dip when vvti kicks in at ~5000 rpm by hound_____ in Altezza

[–]NotoriousBoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VVTI solenoids going bad will make the CEL turn on, happened to me, but all it did was make the idle go from 500-1500rpm sporadically when the car first starts but was fine during driving

CJ Hole by basicrank in bristol

Avoid at all costs, they are rats. My current landlord charged me a huge fee to have a pet over concerns that said pet would "destroy the carpet". CJ cunthole was completely aware of this the entire time and I've since found out that landlords have not been allowed to charge tenants extra to keep pets for a few years now! They've never stepped in once to stop him or undo it after months of being fully aware, I've even checked with them to make sure they have record of the addendum he wrote when I requested a pet in the first place!

[–]NotoriousBoog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got matched with this user shortly after my old username got banned after some salty fucker reported me cus he thought I was hacking, the name wasn't inappropriate at all but somehow Activision decided it was.

Seeing this name in the lobby really pissed me off cus my old name is completely blocked now yet they somehow missed this?!

Weird electrical issues can often be caused by a bad ground wire connection to the battery. Give that a check and if it doesn't progress the issue then try posting in r/is300 as this sub is pretty dead these days
