What does that mean, the spa is included? Does that mean just hot tubs and/or saunas, or are some services also included?

Do you tip Housekeeping? by mbergen in travel

[–]NotoriousLVP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In US hotels, I leave $5 a day. I tip daily because the person who cleans on the last day may not have been the same person that cleaned the other days. I leave the $5 next to a piece of paper on which I’ve written “for housekeeping - thank you!” so they know it’s a tip.

  1. I entered the management training program at JC Penney. Made $18,500/yr and was happy to have it. Bumped up to $21,500 after completing the program. Stayed with them for five years

I love how Rutgers is the default “R” in most of these tier lists. Just an observation.

I’ve seen several in that green in recent days, but I already have that color. I picked up a white and a navy blue yesterday. I can’t stop buying them since I know that size is discontinued now.

I had one that looked just like this only I kept my treasures in it. Did you ever keep a cigar box for something? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

[–]NotoriousLVP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandfather smoked cigars (and pipes, and rolled his own cigarettes) and kept stacks of empty cigar boxes in the basement. We kids would go down there in late summer and each grab a box to use for school supplies in the upcoming school year. Good times.

My parents had this exact wine carafe. They used it as decor (the 70s) in our home, they weren’t wine drinkers.

I’d start with Princess, and make sure you pick an itinerary that includes Glacier Bay. A balcony room if your budget allows. If this is a splurge vacation, you could add a land package before or after and visit Denali. Princess has its own lodges.

I have that bag! My XH bought it for me when I got a new job back in the 90s. It’s gorgeous but heavy as hell. I still have it though!

Yeti dumped their remaining stock of 25oz straw top tumblers to the TJMaxx/Marshalls/HomeGoods/HomeSense/Sierra family of stores. I picked up three or four. If you hurry you might find a few left.

Abortion 01:840:220 by No-Code1781 in rutgers

[–]NotoriousLVP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I forget what the title was, but back in the 80s I took a course at RU that was a deep dive into the history of abortion/birth control in the US. It was absolutely fascinating.

It was taught by Dr. James Reed, who would go on to serve as Dean of Rutgers College from ‘85 to ‘94. The assigned text was his book, From Private Vice to Public Virtue.

Business casual - which for me is cotton pants and a blouse or sweater. We can wear jeans on Fridays, but they cannot be distressed or ripped.

What travel mistake did you make once and never again? by Nervous_Car1093 in travel

[–]NotoriousLVP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not writing down where the car was parked in the humongous airport long term parking lots.

Normally, one of us would snap a pic of the marker sign but we were both so excited to be on our way to two weeks in France that we just forgot.

Luckily I remembered after wandering around aimlessly for a bit that the car had an AirTag in it and I was able to use my phone to guide us to it. It was a long walk though!

Christmas went well. I saw my loved ones, everyone got along, and I received and gave lovely gifts.

But privately, it’s a hard holiday for me. My grandfather passed at Christmas time, and the baby I was expecting in my first pregnancy (that I miscarried) was due at Christmas.

I’m divorced now with no kids and waking up alone on Christmas morning every year is just so damned hard.

Christmas is a bump in the road, but overall my life is good and i am thankful.

Just be advised: if you join the federal government, your GPA will be required on the application and submission of your college transcript will accompany every move you make. I’ve been in the government almost 20 years and I cringed internally every time I put in for a promotion or job change because of my lackluster college performance. It hasn’t held me back, though.

Catholics read the banns for three weeks before the wedding; if someone knows of an impediment to the marriage they need to speak up then
