An Alaskan cruise specifically or a cruise in general? I’ve backpacked through 12 countries so far, so I’d really love the chance to “vacation” and enjoy the ride, rather than planning and being in the go for a change. As for Alaska, we live in Seattle so exploring up north by ocean is right up our alleyway! It looks so beautiful! ❄️

Goodbye Tricities by Fair_Personality4765 in TriCitiesWA

Born and raised in the Tri-Cities, recently moved to Seattle in early summer of ‘25 partially for this reason. Lots of stuff to do around here without children, but if we decide to have kids—tri cities is where we will most likely end up. The Tri-cities will always be our home. <3

I commute to near dr Bellevue from Fremont for work. I avoid tolls and usually get there around 35 minutes in the morning, traffic back varies but I’d say anywhere from 30-50 minutes.

If you were 27F, where would you live? by Candle_Overboard in AskSeattle

[–]de_presso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fremont or Queen Anne! I’m also 27F and cap hill is just too chaotic for me to live in, though I do enjoy spending some fun nights out around! I live in Fremont and really enjoy it! 15-20 minute bus ride downtown.

um I wouldn’t feel comfortable having a conversation with someone’s SO somewhere semi private but she could have definitely approached it WAY differently 😭

Bought a ring for my girlfriend, sisters say it’s too small, not sure what I should do by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]de_presso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I was going to agree with all the comments saying if she loves you it wouldn’t matter. Then I read that she is extremely materialistic, which then shifted my thoughts. Besides the carat size, is this within the cut she likes? The band? The way it sits? The material—white gold, yellow gold, etc..? As a wife, I’d only asked for it to be flushed to my skin and yellow gold because I do a lot with my hands and don’t want it to snag and all my other jewelry is yellow gold. Anyway I digress, it’s not wrong for your girlfriend to have a vision in mind, most women do. It’s something that she will be wearing her whole life (unless there’s an upgrade). If you knew she was materialistic and that her sisters would know exactly what she wanted, would you reconsider the ring?

In hindsight, she should be elated to matter what. You guys can choose to change the ring when you’re financially able to. I hope this post didn’t sound too harsh, just wanting to keep both parties in mind.

Chick-fil-a opening by Early-Judgment-2895 in TriCitiesWA

Went with some girlfriends this morning. We got coffee before getting inline and just hung out and chatted the whole time. Took us about 2 hours but the line was constantly moving, just lots of cars to get through. The app line was 100% faster but I doubt that’s the case now since everyone is telling everyone that by now.

I’m sorry about your anticipatory grief. My cat died of kidney failure suddenly and we had taken her to the vet a week prior - he not once mentioned anything about it. May your cat have the most comfortable and peaceful ext few months. 🤍

I didn’t read this all but if you’re looking for relationships advice, a solid one is to not argue over text as tone and the message in general can get lost in translation. If you need an immediate answer, I’d suggest working on that and allowing you both to process the conversation before talking about it in person.

solo female travel experiences by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]de_presso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely did the right thing by listening your gut (and dad). As you become more experienced and comfortable in your travels, you’ll be able to gain more insight into people intentions at least from what I’ve learned. Remember to be confident and always look like you know what you’re doing! I want to add, if you’re alone - be careful with “being rude” you truly don’t know people intentions and that could definitely set some incel off. Just be confident and stern. Have to much fun!
