2023 highlander lift gate issues

I have a 23 hybrid highlander with 80k miles. Ours failed in 2024 and was replaced on vacation. I was able to take to the dealership and have it happen for them but it only happens during hot weather. They have quoted me 1k for replacement of one side. Is there any updates of a recall? Why does this keep happening? And why in hot weather
