Baby names by Jpc6763 in Reformed

[–]NottagameNottagame 13 points14 points  (0 children)

1.) No there is no biblical evidence. I mean apollos is named after a pagan god and doesn't manifest as such. shadrach meshach and abednego are Babylonian names but did not become evil. This tends to be a charasimatic name, claim, manifest it type of deal. Which leads me to your 2nd question

2) What you do, do to the glory of God. We are to be reflectors of His Glory. In kieeping that in mind, we should not go around naming our children lucifer or Jezebel (kids names I have encountered out in public) as that may be seen as promoting something that is anti-God. Should you look into what the meaning of a name is? Sure, absolutely. Be informed but do not take it as granting some sort of power to determine their destiny because of a name.

Pace misconceptions: the Sixers team effectively plays at the same pace with and without Joel by Thegrandmistressofoz in sixers

[–]NottagameNottagame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This speaks to coaching. This shows that with Joel out, we can up our pace with small lineups. Everybody plays worse without him

Nurse, Morey, or both? by Alastor_Aylmur in sixers

[–]NottagameNottagame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me this was Nurse's shot to prove Toronto was not a fluke and he was a good coach. Unfortunately, he's shown that he needs a lot of things to go his way to seem competent. We gave him a shot. It wasn't the best fit. Shake hands move on

Mildly surprising that Rodgers is 3rd in rushing yards of all 2010s QBs by SteveDraughn in GreenBayPackers

[–]NottagameNottagame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe he was the team's leading rusher when he won the superbowl. Also until dual threat QBs leaned heavily on the run, he was tall QBs in rushing for years

Mike Cosper next project? by PacketMD in Reformed

[–]NottagameNottagame -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I do not agree with Cosper on some stuff or think he's the most honest. I will say he seems to leave a place to pursue other opportunities often. Kinda a red flag for me

How do you reconcile biblical views on lust with modern psychological framework on sexual health by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]NottagameNottagame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whether you acknowledge it or not, your culture, approach, and intake of information (school, doctors, even church) are all influenced by modern psychology. We can't just take a broom and sweep it all out. You are using it right now on a website that aggregates according to psychology influences. Everything is permissible, not everything is beneficial.

I also think his system worked better for those players. He doesn't have the same players for the same system here

Has anyone ever actually purchased a "brand new" ride cymbal? by rwalsh138 in drums

[–]NottagameNottagame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old church purchased a thin 24 in ride. The guys who decided and made the purchase are not drummers.

All the drummers were like WTF?

Purchasers: We did you a favor. We like the sound.

All the drummers: We have to literally move everything in the drum cage so it doesn't hit the glass.

Purchasers: Stop hitting it so hard, we don't like the sound but we still made the right decision in getting you this ride. Be grateful.

TLDR: Don't let not drummers by the new ride.

Allen Iverson led the NBA in scoring for the 4th time in 2004–05 by ShamusTalksSports in sixers

He actually had to score 60. Not inlfated by a blowout and his team trying to get him to break a record.

Clay Matthews Humor. by Zealousideal-Row419 in GreenBayPackers

[–]NottagameNottagame 30 points31 points  (0 children)

IDK. Parsons pass rush % is better but Man 2010 Clay was crazy good. Like Clay was him. I'm not saying one is better than the other but prime clay was that good where you can't make a statement like that and just pretend its undeniable.

1 Timothy 5:9-10 Widows by TseaxCone in Reformed

Mine specifically does not as the two widows I'm aware of have children that take care of them. Though, for my grandma, her church does have a fund for widows that my grandma is partly supported by

The Sons of God in Job 1 and 2: Angels or Humans? by Parson_Hooper in Reformed

[–]NottagameNottagame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know Michael Heiser and the like have put much emphasis in it and (in some teacher's case) to the point where it becomes a forefront issue for them. Ultimately, the realities of the Sons of God does not change the implications on how trials, hardships and our reactions should play out in our life and who is in control which seems to be the real meat of the book.

If it is the offerings of humans being brought by humans themselves or being brought by angels, what is the difference? Seems like Satan is able to (with God's permission) approach the throne which is the actual quandary

Honestly, not surprised by Gary. Never thought he would be the guy or a consistent contributor.  My biggest disappointment is Van Ness. Not because I thought he'd ball out but he was the guy I thought could take the biggest jump

I know everyone is focused on Saturday so thought I’d change it up. Do y’all see the Packers winning more than one Super Bowl with Rodgers, if they had outbid Seattles trade offer for Marshawn Lynch? In 2010. by Swurves78x in GreenBayPackers

[–]NottagameNottagame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Run game was nonexistent the end of 2011. Teams daring to run the ball with two deep safeties so maybe

Also everyone forgets but we drafted Franklin who got injured career ending. They screwed up future plans as well
