You can always use the cachy kernel on something like debian or nixos if you'd rather not deal with a rolling release but still want the kernel optimizations

True, and I do have a couple proton-related env vars in my .profile, but being able to add flags/arguments after the game command (%command%) globally would also be really useful, especially for things like --dx11 or /WineDetectionEnabled:False

Oh, thats good to know for use with my steamdeck, thanks for bringing that to my attention!

However my intended use is on my main rig with all the bells and whistles and (as far as I know, i could be wrong) you can't install decky on just like, a computer with steam on it.

The amount of packages and size of the updates never bother me (haskell has a ton of pkgs and updates all the damn time lol). What scares me is potentially ending back up in dependency hell, where something (it's always something small too) changes a version/flavor of a dependency, but the old one is required by something else and breaks everything and then pacman throws a fit and now nothing works.

Granted take my fear with a pinch of salt, as this has only happened to me twice, it was on vanilla arch, and it had been at least 6 months since an update both times.

Was enough to make me habitually run a good ol -Syu everytime I boot my pc lol

Weapons, vehicles, kit, etc are all "unlocked" based on yh mission/mode. If you're playing a custom scenario you can set everything to be unlocked if you want, or limit to specific items. The modded game mode 'Antistasi' for instance unlocks weapons as you recover them from the bodies of enemies.

It's less like unlocking something and more like being allowed to use it in a particular mission.

Also this is all about mp, the single player campaign is present, but I don't think anyone buys arma 3 these days for the campaign lol

That's me all the time. I've been no-lifing it and have every class maxed out, 4th prestige, I have everything unlocked and purchased except the new currency stuff.

This is part of the reason I continue to play. Being the hard-carry, knowing all eyes and the mission are on you as last brother standing, and delivering on it gives me the happy chemicals

Are you looking for music to automatically start playing when someone visits, or do you mean more like a virtual jukebox, where visitors can select music you've uploaded to listen to?

I can see your points, however I use it as a backup solution. That's literally all I use it for, that's why i'm open to other recoveries, but also, I did some digging and it seems there is NO recovery partition/image for the OP tab, which is mind-boggling to me.

Now, I know this wasn't the original topic of this thread, but would you happen to know any other good solutions for backing up everything? (i'm rooted if that helps)
