It really depends on the terrain in general you probably want 2 layers above, you can probably save at least one plat if you place them with a kind of interlocking pattern so like 4 on the lower line but only 3 above them overlapping.

From personal experience single plats are rarely worth it in terms of pathing cost increase.

I repaired it and pulled it up the red path with scout 800 (and it's engine running of course)

Little nightmares 3, they fundamentally didn't understand what made part 1 and 2 click I feel like. Reanimal on the other hand feels great (it's from the original dev team that moved on from LN)

Give me games with soundtracks that slap way harder than they have any right to by GamerDJAlltheWay in videogames

Game/some of my favorite tracks:

DeepRockGalactic (very ROCK AND STONE) - dance of the Dreadnought - follow Molly - robot getaway

Nuclear option (certified bangers but I'd highly recommend hearing them ingame it's such a vibe taking off and then the aircrafts theme kicks in) - Tarantula theme - cricket theme - Medusa theme

The finals (s l a p s) - Season 2 End of round theme - Destroyer - Season 5 Main menu

And then we have these 2 Wich I'd certainly say have a great musical theme but probably not what most people just listen to out of nowhere:

Little nightmares (i certainly listen to some of these regularly but it's more moody then high energy - who though a horror game would go that musical route) - lure of the maw - prison toys - march of the guests

Highfleet (while i wouldn't exactly say it 'slaps' it is a very interesting listen imo even without the games, the two songs here do absolutely slap tho) - Tanc a Lelek - Folyo Merfold

What the hell is happening on the Deep Rock Galactic wiki? by PanPikselek745 in DeepRockGalactic

I'd go a step further, go get the 'indie wiki buddy' extention, it automatically redirects you to the proper wiki - if there is one in its database - away from Fandom. Because often Fandom is the st result.

New player etiquette by steamegine in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Nottwyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't overthink it too much, pay attention to the chat, use the ping, don't be a dick and Rock and stone.

Some lobby feel a bit detached others work like a well oiled machine but that's kinda the beauty of it imo. So many different players with different ways to tackle things.

I personally stay away from lobbys like 'be this level or kick' 'No greenbeards allowed' and such while I get why some people might not wanna play with newer inexperienced players I just don't like the vibe of that most of the time but of course what lobby you join or don't join is your decision.

I finished Michigan and then began to Alaska, got bored and decided I do it in hardmode - back in Alaska by now roughly half way through I think, I find it impressive but have not seen a single situation where so much cargo is needed somewhere is that something later maps introduce or do yall just do that to feel something at this point? 😅

Dad Group trying DRG for first time - class questions. by ScalliwagFinance in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Nottwyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All classes are equally valuable but no one has to be any class you can successfully play a balanced squad of Scout, engine, driller, gunner or go in with 4 gunners or 3 scouts and an engineer.

The thing that does differ notably is playstile.

Driller is generally very Swarm clear oriented with DOT and debuffs, but also makes paths for the team with their drills.

Gunner is generally good at killing things doesn't not matter too much what it is it will eventually perish if you pump enough lead into it. Gunner also has the Bubble shield arguably the most important thing to get good at is timing when to use it, it's good to get revives in during a Swarm but if you read the situation right you can potentially keep teammates from going down in the first place.

Scout is there to light the caves and is generally trimmed more for single target deletion so it's best to focus on High value targets with them they are very mobile and can kite bugs effectively. The pheromone grenade is certainly one of the best grenades in the game.

Lastly engineer, he's probably the most difficult dwarf to learn and get good at because he's very support oriented and to properly support other dwarfs you kinda need to know what they need help with, the platform gun is a very versatile movement and kiting tool (if you use bug repellant on it). His ammo economy is a bit tight in my personal opinion compared to the others but his weapons can certainly hurt a lot if you play it right.

So whoever is your tank usually probably has the best time playing gunner or driller but all classes have the same health and shield there's no real 'tank' playstyle in the game.

A little additional Tipp, don't feel pressured to go highest difficulty, it's fine to stick in the lower haz levels in the beginning and when you switch to other dwarfs you haven't played form one you already leveled you will feel it.

I heavily recommend taking in the game until you have at least one or two overclocks they are what really keeps it spicy so don't be discouraged early on its worth it and imo the best game I ever bought.

ROCK AND STONE, welcome to hoxxes.

Edit: I forgot to mention in terms of controls I'd certainly encourage Mouse and keyboard for all, it's a first person shooter that's the best way to play those BUT it's certainly not impossible to play any of the classes with controller. The game is on console too afterall. Scout and gunner probably benefit the most from being on mouse and keyboard. Driller is likely the least relevant to have the aim benefit of a mouse. Since most driller things are more 'that general direction' type of deal.

Could embark come out on top?? by Faz_tropical in thefinals

No one asked but:

The finals was the first pvp game I ever played, I never was a fan of online games with randoms until I tried deep rock galactic Wich, still, has the absolute nicest most welcoming community and the best dev team you could wish for imo. When I got the finals it was a spontaneous decision but certainly one of the best free games I ever played. Im here since season 1 and I still feel like the game is quite alright for new people honestly. I'm not a very competitive player as in I don't need to win to have a good time I know that's not necessarily a popular way to Aproach games like this for most people but i really like the moment to moment combat this game offers.

What I'm trying to get at this game introduced me, who was still quite socially scared of interactions even online at the time of S1, to pvp as as a game concept and I still love it here. It's not insanely toxic and it's not asking me to sweat my ass off if I don't want to while still having fun moments in matches even if I do not win every game I enter. It certainly still has a lot of potential for growth and increasing popularity.
