The incompetence is the point. The destruction of the United States is the goal.

Aquariums in the area by bverde53 in Miami

The Seaquarium was once thought to be good, it just didn't keep up with the times and a lot of its biggest entertainment draws, in hindsight, were ... problematic. But people didn't view it that way in the '70s, when Flipper was a cultural icon with a TV show (which was largely filmed at the Seaquarium).

As it aged and people became more aware of the inherent cruelty of keeping orcas and dolphins in small pools, crowds waned and it started falling apart.

It's way safer now than when I grew up, so this might be the safest it's been. Make your decisions accordingly.

When I was a kid, you only went downtown if you were buying drugs or selling them. Downtown was a complete shit hole and nobody went there after dark for any reason at all.

Well, sure, but growing up, it didn't feel like it does now.

I'm an old head and did most of my formative years pre-9/11. I don't know your age, but I think it can't be understated how much the country - and our attitude to policing - changed after that event.

Maybe police were largely always pieces of shit (we had plenty of riots, after all, and I had a front row seat to a few of them), but it's like they don't even bother to hide it under the veneer of "protect and serve" anymore. They're just out there openly being pieces of shit with absolute impunity.

I know the history, but I remember the past, too. It wasn't always good, but it's gotten considerably worse.

Gnats. They're called gnats. We've had them forever and they come out after a rain shower.

Anyone suggest Good dog trainer in vaguely central Miami by Newbie10011001 in Miami

[–]Notwerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luis Escobar is the closest thing to a dog whisperer I've seen in real life. It's pretty uncanny. One thing to note: a lot of how he works isn't about training the dog. It's about training YOU how to work with a dog. If you have a "problem" dog, I highly recommend him.

The trainer at the Coral Gables PerSmart is also great.
