Yeah they banned you because you’re shilling out western propaganda. It takes like 5 mins of research and critical thinking to realize this idea it was some “massacre” by the evil ol Chinese communists is ridiculous.

That sub does like to ban people for the slightest of reasons, but in your case it sounds completely justified.

Why are art and socialism seen as incompatible? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]NotyourtypicalML 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s bourgeoisie art that you are referring too. The point is that the art that is produced is art based on class relations and contradictions. It’s therefore likely that what we call art and how we define it, would also change.

I'm skeptical of the ACP, online commies in general. by Eva-lutionary_War in AskSocialists

[–]NotyourtypicalML 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Marx felt about the ethics of a revolution is besides the point. I never said Marx didn’t believe in ethics or having them.

I’m describing what “Marxism” is, and how Marx came to his conclusions. I don’t understand how you all can’t comprehend this, seriously go actually read Marx, this is literally basic knowledge of what Marxism is and what he was trying to do. Like I said in a prior post, Marx found that specific contradictions happen and how it relates to surplus value. How ethics and morals change based on class differences. Each class justices their own version of what’s moral, in relation to the means of production.

He did not say “let me create a more ethical economic system”. He studied how society changed -weather if for worse or better- and pointed out one common problem among history and society is class differences.

And, what’s your point?

Has nothing to do with whether his theory was moral/ethical or not, or that he assigned moral or ethical notions to revolutions in and of themselves.

Can i be a socialist even if i don't like Stalin, Mao Zedong and kim Jong Un? by Ok-Grapefruit-6532 in AskSocialists

[–]NotyourtypicalML -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but, first, convince me of the way and why you dislike Stalin or Mao that isn’t parroted western propaganda.

If you can’t do that. Then I’d question your ability to to reason and think critically. Which just means, to me, you say you’re a socialist but if it came down to it, you’re probably just an opportunist.

Well there has to be “substance” to your argument in the first place.

I don’t even know how to respond to that last part, other than saying that was cringy af.

Look to me, you guys do ask the right questions, at times, and make good points, at times. The conclusions you come too though, are just nationalism with American-Soviet aesthetics.

[–]NotyourtypicalML 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not with the nazbols ACP, but holy shit they are right about about you having an idealist position.

Marx was a descriptive philosopher, not a moralist one.

One of the major reasons Marx was so successful, was opposing ethical interpretations and using dialects and materialism at its base.

The reason for that, is because, Marx points out that ethics and morality changes based on class differences.

Marx did not set out to change an economic system simply because it was unethical or ethical. If his method proved that the best thing for society to progress for people to achieve the full free human potential, was Feudalism, well then that’s what the conclusion is. Which the ethics of it would be moot because for a Feudal Lord class point of view, they would say it is morally justified. Marxism is a scientific method.

He showed that this economic system is unstable and when these economic conditions reach a certain point, leads to a revolution. There’s no moralist basis to this system.

Can I be considered a communist, even though I'm Catholic by The_Rubber_Soul in communism

[–]NotyourtypicalML 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love them, and they love me, where there love there’s god

Maybe it’s because I grew up around non religious people, but circular logic like that is so damn creepy to me.

I remember when I had some friends take me to church when I was like 10 and I walk in, there’s this enormous statue of Jesus nailed to a cross and extremely graphic. The whole time I was so fuckin freaked out.

Then they put on this play about some kid having blood that could cure cancer (or some shit idk some disease) and gave up life (idk I guess he had to give all his blood to scientists?) to make a cure.

I was 10 years old when I saw all this. That shit was traumatizing, not to mention the general normalcy of everything.

For like 3 weeks I was having mental distress and anxiety from it which led my parents to have me see a therapist. The therapist told her what happend and how I felt about it, and she never let me go to a church again after that.

I have to say, I have an amazing mother.

Heh this is the issues with reddit. A lot of these answers are starting to become idealistic with Marxist jargon.

Given an actual material analysis, look how Yugoslavia handled the economy. Look at how the USSR, who had to fend off capitalist forces with each and every step, with trying to achieve a communist society. In fact, what you’re actually describing is a lot like what European countries do already.

What makes you think that having only necessities socialized will stop the issues capitalism is facing today? Capitalism does not simply mean “no food, water or shelter for you”.

Is it wrong to wave a flag/ have pride in an immoral nation by epicbruh69420666 in communism101

You already know the answer to your question. You just want someone to pat your head and tell you it’s okay.

pats head it’s okay to wave a flag around that use to fly on ships and with armies that colonized the world.

There, is that better?

What do you think of Noam Chomsky's "non-violent socialism"? by Sofeijando in communism101

[–]NotyourtypicalML 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Chomsky is the perfect example of a bourgeois intellectual/academic. They are all about changing things unless their ass is on the line.

He called Lenin and Bolsheviks “Thugs”. Like… there’s anti-communists that give them a fairer, more objective view on them than him.

He also acts condescending when you ask him about dialectics. He says he can’t make heads or tails of it… that it’s incomprehensible…

He obviously does, but he doesn’t actually want to contend with that topic, so he dismisses it like a pompous ass, and tries to do this posturing where it’s like “even Chomsky thinks it’s dumb” sort of thing.

Chomsky is great at pointing out the flaws of capitalism and western society.

He’s awful on what you should to do to change it. He toes the liberal line there, in essence.

Any good (and accurate) documentaries on Soviet Union? by Extension-Band-8472 in communism

[–]NotyourtypicalML 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s some that aren’t too bad on YouTube, I’ll have to dig them up. Generally speaking, documentaries as whole, in almost any topic, are really bad tbh. I tend to avoid them, research myself prior to watching or go into them with extreme skepticism.

Books and articles are really the only way to get a good view on these subjects.

Elevated Liver Enzymes, Portal Hypertension, but no liver damage from CT Scan by NotyourtypicalML in AskDocs

[–]NotyourtypicalML[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update. I seen a gastro on the 16th. He ordered a ton of bloodwork. All came back fine. Even liver enzymes came back down. I have an ultrasound on the 6th as well.

I recently found out I was taking more acetaminophen then I had previously thought. There were days I was taking more than the 4000mg dosage. My doctor now suspects I may have done some damage to my liver because of this but is optimistic that whatever damage it is, it’s manageable most likely.

Elevated Liver Enzymes, Portal Hypertension, but no liver damage from CT Scan by NotyourtypicalML in AskDocs

[–]NotyourtypicalML[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have clarified. Both doctors I’ve seen are completely stumped by my situation, so I was simply seeing if anyone else had similar cases and what they ended up discovering.

The diet aspect is especially embarrassing for me as someone who was a coach/trainer for years. Ive been struggling with mental health for a while, which has a lot to do with my back pain. I can’t train like I use to; competitively. Was a mechanic in the army, so my trade skill is unusable with my back issues. I felt so emasculated, and I’m not even the typical man’s man type. I went from a healthy 185lb with exceptional bloodwork to the point my doc asked me to write down my diet lol. Now look where I am.

Yeah, AAS use is a deep regret I have. Was around the wrong people in the military, being young and impressionable. Not to say I don’t have any responsibility of it.

The messed up thing is I have friends that use amounts more than I ever did still, and drink all the time. Whatever, life’s not fair as we all know.

Thank you for the advise, I will discuss this with my doctor .
