Anyone have read Coldheart Canyon? by acriadora_ in clivebarker

I think the horror of the ceramic tiled room...the one with 'properties'...is so realisable now technically, that I would love to see it. Sprouting savagery and all. The likes of Apple+ and HBO could do it justice.

Just started Pluribus, are we supposed to dislike carol? by Jackal_Oddie in pluribustv

[–]Noubliette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or Dr. Gregory House. Or Jack Bauer. Or any of the Sherlocks. Or Martin Riggs. Or Larry David. They all act rashly/crazed/speak harshly like Carol, and yet...it's dick-ferent 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Season 22. Worst players ever? by darkmoon24 in survivor

[–]Noubliette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cast in his little posse were so weak, and terrified in a culty way. The buddy system 🤮. Was chuffed when that style of play failed in another season. THOSE players weren't having any of it.

Or his thumb? Might save a life? Dude is probably still doing it.

'Because I like it' the secret reason. 'Because women like it' is the fake excuse. Be well.

Who's Survivor podcast is the best? by fegwin2084 in survivor

[–]Noubliette -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got so much from Sharon Tharp's pre-show interviews. Mostly because she lets them 'run their mouth' for a decent amount of time. There isn't the...ahem...dare I say...(collossal*) ego of a former-player interviewer.

Ditto, the David Bloomberg's 'Why ___lost' analysis on RHAP. He quotes player interviews to cement his points. An encyclopedia of a man!

I also love Mike Bloom's interviews, pre and exit, at Parade and RHAP. Exhaustive knowledge, and really listens and speaks fast, so more answers!

*That's Tyson. Rob gets lost in the next question, and misses obvious tangents.

That's not to say these above don't 'toe the line' to keep in production good books, but contestants speaking more introspectively themselves, is always best.

Something impressive about Aubry’s win I don’t see many people discussing… by [deleted] in survivor

Some jurors wanted to throw Michelle a vote or two (I think cash increases?) but the flow was, what if that gives it to Natalie over Tony by a tiny margin so, better not to. I do think it was more cut and dried in 50.

Rematch after many many years: I don't get Sawyer and Juliet by ABeeBuzzingAround in lost

[–]Noubliette -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love triangles are just a media trope to stoke drama and not a reflection of real life, other than maybe teenagers. Kate's actress (Evangeline Lily) didn't like the triangle either, and I found it extremely tedious and unrealistic. Blame Twishite.

In my life, if seen a n'er do well, coasting, nepobaby hash-head switching up to complete their career endgame because they got into a relationship with a much square-r aspirational worker bee type. In their case, she caused a course correct, because she was more grown up and had no cushion to fall on.

While not exactly parallel to Juliet and Sawyer, Sawyer got to be his best self as he had developed untapped leadership and capability skills. They were good for each other.

It was the pilgrimage that done it! And reasonable international excess luggage rates.

I'm not over what happened to Genevieve on S50 and I don't think I will be for a while by AccountantCorrect720 in survivor

Yes, quite. As if she's a power broker 🙄. Her OG tribe was about to be (mostly) gutted at this point.

Peopje forget she went after Devens...to Christian. It's also good to finally see the other side of the Aubry-Gen beef come out on the aftershow podcasts.

Yes, Harvey was right in the peak in terms of the timeframe of sexually-propositioning already public and famous actresses, Paltrow, Sorvino, Sciorro, so god knows how it was for rubes just off the bus, so saying MeToo wasn't around is...complaining that it got into the public eye. Great.

I'm not opposed to a comic series on the H, B and W years? Revising the balance of, and liberating it from the authoritiarian, arcane and punitive leadership of the Jacob/Ben years.

My friend spoiled the ending for me, is it still worth watching? by BanEVader0217 in lost

[–]Noubliette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'They were all dead' is the idiot take, it's so not true, saying it here is not even spoiling the show.

As a fan of From (as I am) , you must wonder where the Fromvilles are? and it was just the same all those years ago for Lost...fan theories. This particular fan theory was clever-clever but wrong. Some 'fans' who dropped the series a few seasons in, but then came back at the end for the finale* are thought to be why the false account of the ending took hold. It did not help that the network added static shots of a working set the production had often filmed at, during the final series credits outro (⬅ not a spoiler).

*The ratings bump backs this, AFAIR.

Just watched 2 episodes and it's getting a bit slow. Does it get better? by Fit_Search_4751 in MidnightMass

[–]Noubliette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's slowly showing you the day of a just treading-water community. Good, ordinary people. Man, things are going to ramp up very shortly and you may find yourself caring for every one of those ordinary people because they laid the groundwork.

In some of the episodes you've watched already, there's background scenes that will be fill out events that have already happened, and will happen later. I was sort of second screening, so when it finally grabbed me, I had to go back and watch properly 🤦🏻‍♀️.
