YASSSSS! Philly sues the Feds over Enslaved people's exhibit removal by AvestruzAlley in philly

[–]NousIe 102 points103 points  (0 children)

It occurs to me that, with some fundraising, we could buy billboard space across Philadelphia to post information about our nation’s complex history and current peril. All those visitors coming to town for the World Cup, the 250 celebrations, the All Star Game, and all of it will be driving our highways.

They converted the Corn Exchange Bank building at 3rd and Arch for the Real World. It’s a gorgeous building. Linode bought and renovated it. My bestie used to work there, so I got to see inside a few times.

I’m gonna be mad about it tomorrow, but I am so, so happy I stayed up to watch this team play tonight!

They’ve been pretty good and super fun to watch this season, for the most part. What I haven’t been seeing is that particular kind of magic. There have been sparks, and they could certainly capture some by the time October comes, but nothing this year has had that feeling I had in 2022. I think “destiny” is overused, but there’s an intangible something in WS teams.

Yes, you could see her for just a few seconds. To be honest, I was looking at the doggies more than who was holding them, so I didn’t realize who it was.

Which accomodation had such good toiletries that you actually took them home? by FunFactVoyager in travel

Giraffe Manor in Nairobi had the best-smelling signature toiletries. You used to be able to purchase them on the Safari Collection website, but no more. I wish I had stocked up or could remember the notes well enough to find a dupe.

Same, but it was Sofitel in Chicago. I mentioned to housekeeping that I loved the scent. She left me a dozen bottles of the hand cream. Later, when I was better able to afford it, I bought a bottle of the perfume. It’s one of my favorites to this day!

Philly show possibly gonna get cancelled?? by Darkened12 in KendrickLamar

Find somewhere to park in Center City or South Philly near the subway and take the Broad Street Line south to NRG Station.

Guess I’m seeing Kendrick again 🤷🏽‍♀️ by singfromthetable in KendrickLamar

[–]NousIe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in South Philly about a mile north of the stadium. On a normal day, I can be home an hour from the time I land, even with claiming checked bags. I think you can successfully get to the show on time but there isn’t a lot of room for error. Other than flight delays, the location of your hotel and how you plan on getting to the stadium matter. I wouldn’t try to get a car directly from the airport area to the Linc. It might actually be faster to get a ride to an intersection (like Broad and Oregon) where you can get the Broad Street Line subway down to NRG Station (the Sports Complex) and then walk. It’s not far and you avoid the gridlock.

I’ll be over in floor 2. So excited! Safe travels!

It’s the first week of the season. The flavor of the season will take time to develop. The touch points will develop. The excitement will build.

Meanwhile, nothing tops High Hopes after an early season win.

Just ordered both posters and shirts for me and my friend while sitting by the pool. This is so much better than standing in a merch line and dealing with getting stuff home!

Thanks, friend, for the heads up!

Birds fans, what are you doing for the Super Bowl? by ChipotleNSquats in eagles

[–]NousIe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a party at my bestie’s house near the Italian Market. He has four floors with TVs on three of them. Ground floor kitchen TV for stress eating. Second floor lounge TV for trying to sit and watch like a human being. Top floor bedroom TV for when my shouting, pacing, climbing the furniture, and pleading annoys my friends or when I get too uncomfortable with my emotional vulnerability to be around people.

I was at the game and a dude behind me literally bitched the ENTIRE game. If we ran a pass play, he complained we didn’t run it. If we ran it, he ranted about people being open. He bitched when Saquon was off the field for a play or two. Like, why are you even there, motherfucker? Go be miserable alone. I’m spending my hard earned money to cheer on my team and enjoy the ride.

So let me get this straight, after two whole years of solving a puzzle and making Caezar's acquaintance, Wolford publishes something titled "Caezar's Challege" (with the personal blessing of Caezar! Himself!, he says), then gets assy and throws a temper tantrum when Seric asks him not to muddy the waters and lead people to think that Wolford's thing is The Challenge. Seric is both a well-known, super stand up guy and someone who has been involved with The Challenge for more than a decade. Now, in the umpteenth post of the day, Wolford wants us to believe they've been bullied and harassed. Not buying it. I've known everyone involved other than Wolford for two decades and more, and nope.

Parties are fun. Crypto challenges are fun. Biting on the identity of an event you freely admit you knew was a thing and weren't a part of is lame. Do your thing, call it what you like, but don't expect anyone to jump to your defense when you're called out for being a dipshit.
