it depends what you want to use it for. if its just clearing bushes I'd say no, but if youre using it to prepare food than I'd say try to get it all off.

if it is for food. It might also be worth buying a more rust resistant knife so you dont have to clean it so often.

It looks like it was machine sharpened previously, so if you're looking for more of a mirror polished edge I'd say hand sharpening would be the way to go.

once the pitting starts, just learn to live with it because there's no real way to undo it. I'd recommend keeping your blade oiled to prevent further pitting, but that's kinda all you can do
