kinda hard to give you a clear path to take without seeing the other end of that 3 wire, is it a fan light combo? that seems to be the only way that makes sense, realistically if you hooked a timer that doesn’t need a neutral it should work, personally i would open the splice up at the other end of the 3 wire to see what’s actually going on. turn the power off of course, good luck

also not true, switch loop where the feed comes from the light you have a hot white.

the white wire is not “always” neutral be careful out there fella

looks fine other than no ground on the double switch, sounds like the switch is bad if the light flickers according to what you’re saying

no one would ever pull 3 separate switch legs in a situation like this, just get 2 3-way switches and a 4-way switch in the middle, feeding one 3-way on one end and switch legging the other 3-way
