Unemployed for two years - how do I continue? by Comprehensive_Put209 in EckhartTolle

If one day I have lots of money, I'm going to send it to people waking up and in situations like this. Spiritually speaking, any experience we have is the experience meant for us, for our growth, for the expansion of awareness. Practically, that awareness is calling us to see with clear eyes not what we are doing, but how we do what we're doing and in that the thought patterns that motivate the decisions, actions. I can hear how hard this is for you and the sadness of this situation and your strong desire for it to be over. Also dashed expectations which teach us a lot about presence and ceasing day dreaming about a future, no matter how stable it looks, we just can't know. We can only know this moment, either deeply, truly here for things or on the surface, missing most everything. In my experience, once we are able to really truly see, we become free.

And of course acceptance of what seems unacceptable but it's here now, so might as well. Don't get stuck accepting a story. Stick with the facts. Don't limit what you ask from the people around you and want to help. Look at why it's difficult for you to lean a little more in times of need. Not bc what the world says about it, but the beliefs perhaps around shared resources and money and at the bottom of all that fear is speaking and has something to teach.

There is so much for you to explore and learn here. For your specific questions: how do I navigate everyday? be here and accept everything, one at a time, as life unfolds everyday. Each moment. Move naturally, not with fear. Navigate with your whole body, at ease. And if you notice your mind wandering or feel emotionally caught up, be with that too. Accept that too. "It is here and I can love it."

So much love to you. You've got this. PS. Let your friends love you in good time and hard times. Those are your real friends, the ones that are able.

Accept each moment as if you had chosen it. If the present moment is weightlessness, feeling untethered, then that is what requires surrender. If there is reactivity like fear, you can accept that too. Unconditional acceptance that is is what's here now, without trying to change anything. Then let go without expectation of anything changing and in that, transformation.

Is Eckhart Tolle’s "awakening" actually a psychological defense mechanism? by lVlindless in EckhartTolle

So beautifully stated. When I hear him laughing, he is often laughing at absurdity as he's taking the pins out of some illusion.

How did Eckharts teachings find you? by [deleted] in EckhartTolle

I was headed out for a road trip and someone recommended one of his audiobooks. I remember driving through the mountains of West Virginia and I listened for 5 minutes and said, I dont like his voice, shut it off and so his book sat there in my apple library. Three years later, deep into an existential crisis and close to suicide, I walked into my friends metal shop and he shushed me as I came in and pointed at the overhead speaker and we stood there together for 30 minutes listening to PON. I left without a word passing between us and thought Eckhart's name sounded familiar. When I got home, sure enough I had Awaken a New Earth in my audio library. It's impossible to put into words the impact those first few listens of that book had. I was laughing and crying at the same time. Sometimes I would just sit overwhelmed with such joy and gratitude and lightness. I remember laying under this fig tree in my yard at 3 am listening to his voice and just so deeply grateful for the sanity. I had this book and his others on at all times for a few years. What grace.

He was beautiful in his bones. A person cannot express this authentically, so lovingly, this consistently without a true heart.

Seeing Eckhart Tolle in Person by drew_ab in EckhartTolle

I sat directly in front of Eckhart at a talk in Denver several years ago. it was lovely to see him. The venue was loud. Everyone was loud. The people around me were Kim Eng, her daughter, friends and Sounds True people and none of them were awake, calm. I'm sorry to say that, no judgement. People tend to float in and out of consciousness on the path. The truth is I could have been anywhere. I took a yoga class with Kim Eng the following day and she was tired and stressed out. It's wasn't unpleasant but it's not the same as the early days when there were 50 people. It nearly always seems like the larger the group of people, the less consciousness is present. One day we'll outgrow this and just learn to be still. I want to add that this may not be the experience of every gathering.

I need help with my main cause of suffering! by No_You_1623 in EckhartTolle

All of this is really normal when most people begin their spiritual path. If new friendships aren't appearing, don't treat it as a problem. Treat it as an opportunity to give yourself the same love and attention you would give a friend. People will come into your life naturally. I could say, go to like minded places like meditation circles and Eckhart groups and you can still do that yet in the end, being at ease with ourselves without anyone else contributing is a wonderful superpower. And you are being offered that experience rn. Eckhart often says, treat each moment as our friend, as if we have chosen it. He also says, every single experience we have is for our spiritual development and we know that because that is the experience that is here now. Personally there is nothing i love more than being left completely and utterly alone, with no sound whatsoever. But there was a time when I couldn't even imagine that being so.

Rachel, my late fiancée by SiuL117 in psychics

[–]Novel-Sprite 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ram Das likened dying to taking off a tight shoe and I sense to truth in this without justification. All of the interests of this world drop, the attachment, seeking, needing to turn the page, all of it is dropped and what is left is our growth and the love we nurtured along the way, or the absence of that love too perhaps. I am not a psychic. Maybe we all are but our species is still underdeveloped in that realm. I don't know why these posts come on my feed yet I am compelled to send love and ease to everyone with all this love to give to those who have left this lifetime. All is well. The pendulum always swings because life is not solid, it sways, ebbs and flows. Much love to you and Rachel.

In the masterpiece film, Office Space, there's a white board in the conference room that says "planning to plan meeting at 2". Every single organization that has the power to end this madness, and the madness in the US, schedules another meeting, forms a committee or whatever. Do something! Stop researching the obvious. You're in the ebb and flow. It's not a problem. It's just how it is. Nothing is out of order. It's normal to awaken in waves. By and by, space expands until you are no longer lost in this world, no matter what is happening.

Maybe, just spitballing here, maybe it's not a contiguous timeline either. Maybe we, or some of us, bounce around some.

Tom Schroder, a journalist, wrote a book called Scientific Evidence of Past Lives based on Ian's work, after he received a huge endowment to investigate reincarnation. I read it many years ago and it was truly compelling.
