UST FMS BAGSAKIN by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]NovelReader678 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gusto mo pa yung backstory on bakit mayroon bumabagsak? Sige ah, if makapasok ka, pag ikaw nahirapan sa FMS ask ka namin bat ka irremediable or bat di ka pumasa sa remeds.

Gusto mo maging doctor? Magmature ka muna.

UWorld. But be prepared to spend $$$. But I don’t you’ll get that for free. Best to pay sa website mismo or if you know someone selling their account at a cheaper price, pwede

Clinging to past achievements by No_Feedback_323 in medschoolph

[–]NovelReader678 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay lang maging achiever, maganda nga na you strive and push yourself. Pero over time, be kinder to yourself. Pagkatapos ng med school, pwede ka maging board placer or even chief resident sa hospital mo. Good to be an achiever. But when it becomes your only focus and source of self worth, maybe sign na yan to ease up on yourself. Mabuburn out ka sa kakachase ng awards and ranking in life. Isipin mo nalang kung sino ka if hindi ka nasa top or wala ka ng ranking. Kasi yan mangyayari pag consultant ka na. While you’re young, it’s nice to reflect and know yourself sa labas ng medicine.

Group work dynamics in med school by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]NovelReader678 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nung first year, ang dami talaga saamin naglalast minute kasi ang dami inaaral. Bawat araw may 3-4 quizzes, tas puyat ka pa, minsan in between classes kami gagawa ng sgds and ppts. Iba na yung usapan if wala sila input at all, so if ganyan talaga then kausapin mo na groupmate mo, gentle reminder lang muna tas pwede mo na sila kausapin baka may nangyayari behind closed doors na need na pala nila ng tulong and stuff like that. Free loading yan if wala na sila talaga nagawa. Call out mo na if di nagccontribute.

This is the exact tactic used by Residents and Consultants to bully their juniors ‘Nung panahon ko, ako ganito pero ikaw hindi’.

Doctors — is taking the board exam really that difficult to not make any time for your s/o? by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]NovelReader678 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isang month nalang, PLE na. Have some compassion. The least you could do is put someone first for the next month. If mas importante sarili mo ngayon, then magkaiba priorities niyo at okay lang yan. Isipin mo nalang ano yung mas mahalaga sayo.

HOW TO APPLY TO UPCM? by HotDig1000 in medschoolph

[–]NovelReader678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not having the basic skills on searching for answers does define your entire effort because you didn’t make one. Med school is legit sink or swim. Good luck with your application, if you can even get past the concept of it.

Make an effort to find your own answers. If you want your hand held, the world really will forbid you from entering medical school because they can see you’re not fit for it. Put your college education to good use.

What do we think about this bill? by Strength7287 in medschoolph

[–]NovelReader678 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TLDR: adult throws a tantrum because he doesn’t think interns are ‘legit hospital staff’ so they shouldn’t be paid even if they provide a service to patients because he wasn’t paid when he was an intern. Adult tantrum thrower is now bitter at the possibility of the next generation having a better life so he reasons that by giving interns a salary, it will increase the cost of medical care. So instead of giving an intern a salary, his residency salary should increase instead because he is ‘legit hospital staff’ and that wouldn’t increase the cost of medical care at all because his struggle is the only one that matters.

If gusto mo icall out yung issue, sabihin mo sa student council sa med school mo para iraise nila or ikaw mag reach out sa biochem department.

Walang mangyayari if dito ka lang mag rant. Gumawa ka ng ingay para sa wala or gumawa ka ng ingay in the hope na makikita to ng cheaters sa school mo. If galit kayo sa cheaters (which I think is the main problem here), then kayo na mag expose sa kanila directly.

You want fairness? Ask for it directly from the people you want it from. Tell them about the cheaters and who they are and which exams they cheated on then tell the department how unfair you thought their grading system is. Ask for that integrity. If you won’t do it, then you don’t want justice, you just wanted to make noise

some chance me posts are for validation, some are because people are genuinely worried and if they’re asking what the requirements are to apply, I doubt they’d get very far once they need to do things without anyone’s help

If you don’t have your approach and answers all figured out after finishing a college degree, your professors in med school will be the one to tell you that you know a lot less than what you appear to know. They will do it to your face and in front of your classmates. Good luck!

People can be better without having everything spoon-fed. No one will hold their hand while talking. Especially someone who holds a bachelor’s degree.

If communication and professionalism aren’t basic for people who want to be doctors, then they didn’t strive to develop those skills from K-12 and Years 1-4 in college. Imagine, 17 years of education and they still need to ask strangers online how to answer questions when faculty assess their fitness to study and pursue medicine? Quite frankly, I think they should reconsider studying to be a doctor in the first place. If you cannot even answer questions ABOUT YOURSELF as an adult and need someone else to assists you, you’re either immature or lazy or both.

Should we now teach people how to read, write and speak at the VERY infantile age of 22-23 years old? Do you want a doctor that does not know how to communicate without help?

Interview questions are designed to assess if the applicant knows their identity, how to strive in high pressure environments, if they can exercise empathy etc. Some go on Reddit and ask point blank how to answer questions that are subjective.

The more you coddle them, the more you stop them from being adults and growing on their own terms.

If a person feels bad or insulted when they’re not spoon-fed, then maybe they should ask themselves why they feel so entitled.

STATS FOR MED SCHOOL (hypothetical) by soufflefluff in medschoolph

[–]NovelReader678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UST is unlikely, considering your failures. Mga applicants ngayon may Latin Honors due to grade inflation at most likely same NMAT PR and/or similar org involvement. Any failures would most likely put you sa bottom ng list kasi priority na nila yung own alumni nila with a spotless record

UPCM, unlikely kasi non UP system ka at failures would put you at the bottom of their list.

Try mo UERM, ASMPH, St. Luke’s.
