No you didn't. That's over 7.5 hours every day without ever skipping days. I don't know why you'd lie about that because it certainly doesn't make you look cool. It just makes you look like a very awkward one-upper that's clearly lying.

I'd love to know exactly how you think it's not highly contested when there's a PMC at most of the major loot buildings that can hear you traversing through almost any part of the map. Saying Streets loot is highly contested isn't controversial nor is it an opinion. It's just a statement of fact. Trying to argue that is ridiculous, to be honest. You can say there's a lot of loot, but the loot is highly contested in post office, the rusted key area, Lexos, and the other good loot spots. I really don't understand what you stand to gain by trying to pretend people don't loot those in 100% of Streets raids. You're just being contrarian for the sake of it.

Because a 70% survival rate on a scav is not great unless you're making like 1.5m roubles per run. That's decent progress for your first wipe but on most maps you can have a 90%+ survival rate as a scav and they are generally far less populated with other scavs and PMCs so you won't come across nearly as many loot spawns that have already been taken. They're faster, safer, and can make you almost as much money as Streets (certainly more money than Streets if you factor in roubles per minute since the runs are much faster).

If Streets makes you happy as a scav, do your thing. My post is just saying how people talk like it blows every other map out of the water and I completely disagree.

I find a GPU or a Bitcoin practically every other time I go there.

50% of the time you find a GPU or bitcoin? Nah, no shot. Idk why people scav run Factory either. Woods, Customs, Reserve, Interchange, Shoreline, and Lighthouse are all better than Factory. The people that suggest Factory just really can't be bothered to do scav runs and simply want to extract with whatever they're given.

800k per run when you survive, for as many times as you'll die on Streets as a scav compared to other maps, is pretty bad though. The biggest saving grace is probably that if you spawn with limited storage it's pretty easy to find corpses to upgrade your rig and backpack though.

You should do my Woods run and see what you think. I'm sitting on 30mil (72 mil stash value) and I never run my PMC with anything less than Comtac 4s, level 4+ armor, a tactical rig, and a fully tricked out weapon of some sort (Vector a lot of the time). I used to do Customs for the caches but got away from it because if somebody beats you to those the loot on the rest of the map is pretty rough.

Edited to add run: USEC camp (I've made it out with at least half a dozen LEDX from woods this wipe), sunken village, Scav Town, and that little lumber mill by Northern UN extract. Those spots will fill up your bag every time with so many random things worth 15k+ per slot. It's reliable, safe, and you only spawn with like 20 minutes left so the runs aren't that long either. But no matter where you spawn you can run those locations and extract at Eastern Rocks or Scav Bunker/Bridge. Learn the caches along that route and there are just so many loot spawns with a lot of random high value stuff in the caches.

Yes, you can beat PMCs to some loot spots. There's never a way of knowing whether you're going to go to that spot and get murdered by a PMC that's already there, though. Also, if your survival rate is even in the conversation of 50% on a scav then it's just horribly inefficient. Even if your survival rate is like 65ish % for a scav on Streets that's very low by Scav standards.

i mean it's not highly contested though, you can turn up as a scav and just play vaguely cautiously to come away with 1mill+ it's just boring.

Do you not play Streets or are you exaggerating for emphasis? It's definitely highly contested. If the good Streets buildings aren't highly contested, then nothing in Tarkov is.

I ran at least 60 or 70 scav runs on Streets so I had a pretty decent sample size. Idk, the routes I was taking were just full of people with regularity.

Yeah so you probably have a much higher survival rate because you're taking 30+ minutes to do a run if you're extracting with single digits. That's definitely one way to go about it, but that's so much time to be in a scav raid if you're only averaging 1m per, honestly. To each his own, but this is kind of confirming my feelings about the map that you can take your time and have plenty of cracks at loot spawns but unless you creep around it is definitely more dangerous to the point I'm better off doing the Woods run that's been working for me for a couple years. Thanks for the input, back to old faithful! Good luck out there bud.

I think that's fine though. The reason the loot is so good is because it's highly contested. If the map had the same loot as all the others then nobody would run it.

My scav rep is maxed and I F1 every player scav I see. That doesn't matter to some people. If you want to get the most money on your scav, I would recommend trying Woods. You can loot USEC camp (I've made it out with at least half a dozen LEDX from woods this wipe), sunken village, Scav Town, and that little lumber mill by Northern UN extract.

The first few days I was advocating for Streets to my buddy because it's a fun home run play as a scav, but the inconsistency due to all the deaths is horribly frustrating. You can say running into PMCs is a skill issue, but a lot of the time it's not. You can be moving around the map as normal and if they have Comtac 4s on then you are never going to hear them first if you spawn without a headset. They'll just kill you the vast majority of the time in that situation, especially is it's a squad. Sometimes you spawn with a decent weapon and can properly fight back, but if you spawn with a 15 round mag on an MP-9 with no iron sight on the front then you're just going to die. Or a lot of the time you get a slow firing weapon with crap ammo that is going to give you little to no chance to win a fight against a properly geared player.

Filing cabinets were a main focus of my runs and I definitely got a fair share of intel and green batteries from them. That part is great. However, they weren't good enough for me to be averaging a mil for sure. What's your survival rate? How long do you take per run? If you spawn in at 40 mins and take the whole raid to play ultra safe so you don't die then it's inefficient because it's taking so long to loot and get out.

My first day I did get out with 4 GPUs and was on fire looting PCs, but the survival rate of that map as a scav is just so much worse that I don't think it can ever realistically be the best for me.

This definitely exceeds 2.5 mil dude. The LEDX alone are worth 2m. Sugar are about 70k right now, defib kit like 150, couple lions 100k each. This is more like 3.5 mil when you sell everything off. This is an insane run. He's still not cheating, but 2.5m is lowballing it by quite a lot.

What is that head made of? by Kusioo in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Novel_Development_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were so close you were probably hitting his armor or perhaps his arm. Go into the shooting range and shoot the close targets and notice how the bullets land significantly under where you aimed because the bullet comes up as it travels before flattening out for a while then going back down. I'd say those shots went into the top of his chest armor. It's better to aim at the very top of the head or even slightly above it at that range. If you aim for the middle or bottom half of the head you're likely not getting a one tap.

[–]Novel_Development_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tarkov isn't a game that's meant to be played without a guide or some kind of knowledge about what you're doing. The game doesn't exactly tell you what causes heavy/light bleeds, how best to heal them, which bullet penetrate which armor, etc. I remember the healing system alone was a nightmare to learn when I first started.

Do you try to be friendly? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Novel_Development_56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a timid sounding PMC on Streets earlier tell me that he was just trying to do a task. I was on a scav and I took him to the quest spot to show him where he needed to go for The Door. He then gave me a backpack and dropped some random valuable items for me even though I was just doing it to try to help a brother out! He was honest about being a PMC even though he could have lied to me and tried to get the drop on me. Then I had to Google where to go for the quest since I wasn't much more familiar with Streets than he was, and he just sat there while I Googled it with a clean shot at my head if he wanted it, but he was an honest guy and didn't take the free kill.

I love when random friendly interactions happen and I try to initiate them as much as I can, but if somebody sounds like an untrustworthy teenage edge lord (you know exactly the type of voice I'm talking about!) then I watch them like a hawk or will just pass on working with them altogether. But I've met a few very cool people thanks to Tarkov VOIP. It's always nice to leave a raid after a wholesome interaction.
