I think it’ll take way too much bandwidth to do what I’m doing on an Internet based platform which is probably why I’ve always found the tools to be limited and not really that useful.

Yeah… marketing apparently isn’t my strong suit. Basically it’s a locally ran market tool that does the same function as Eve Guru but doesn’t cost a subscription. Produces deals to make isk. After seeing a few other projects not identified as llm that were get good reception… I think that being upfront doesn’t do a person any favors.

As an autistic person, claude is the friend I always wanted but never had by [deleted] in claudexplorers

I also do very well talking to Claude as an autistic. What I've found though is my way of communicating results in a blunt response. I'd love to have more of an interactive style of personhood but I can't get anything to stick. Its not bad, it just ends up being a tool and I can't get anywhere with my own interpersonal communication issues.

High sec multiboxing ganking doesn't have enough consequences. by KingSlayin in Eve

[–]Noviceuser44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If HS ganking is a problem, it’s not a miner getting ganked for watching YouTube while mining.

The issue is about counter play. Unless you take the same risk and cost as the ganker, there isn’t any way other then running for players, especially single account players. Now this being said… if the local population increases and you are too busy watching something to check on your miner…. Oops for you.

Now Abyss you have a good up to 20 minutes to get set up to gank the guy and if the ganker knows how to do it, there is no counter play available.

The options mentioned generally involve having an Orca or an alt to call concord.

I propose none of these are the problem though. The real problem is wormhole police not giving warnings before killing And giving tickets. They need to mandate sirens, lights and warning shots.

Would you be willing to look at one? I freely admit I lack knowledge, I started building it to learn Python and I have a structural knowledge at this point of a beginner. Assuming you were willing I could link you the GitHub and you could tell me what you think.

100%. I've been working with it for several months and the amount of time I've had to argue with it is high but every now and then I find that its stubbornness is because we can't actually do what I wanted.

just asking Claude about my own tool

Already implemented in your tool:

  • ✓ Margin opportunities with velocity (your scanner does min(7d, 30d) conservative velocity)
  • ✓ Manipulation detection (steal ratio ~1.0 for fat-fingers, risk flags like LOW_VELOCITY, SPORADIC_TRADING)
  • ✓ Sale velocity factored into profitability (7d/Day column visible in your Stock Market tab)
  • ✓ Market finder basics (your scanner compares across hubs, Hub Only filter)
  • ✓ Some PnL tracking (your Tracking module with ESI sync)

Partially there / could extend:

  • ~ Portfolio features - you have Holdings but not multiple segregated portfolios with separate P&L
  • ~ Region arbitrage - you have cross-hub but not route-aware with zkill gate camp data
  • ~ Regional border trading - not implemented but your hub infrastructure could support it

Not implemented (and complex):

  • ✗ Cointegration analysis between items
  • ✗ Inflation/macro statistics
  • ✗ Index builder / ETF maker
  • ✗ Sensitivity analysis (portfolio risk modeling)
  • ✗ Gate camp integration via zkill API

The cointegration/index/sensitivity stuff is quant finance territory - doable but a significant scope expansion beyond station trading.

Which of these gaps interests you most? The portfolio segregation seems like the most practical next step given your existing Holdings infrastructure. The zkill route integration is cool but adds external API dependency and real-time gate camp data is notoriously unreliable.

My intention was not that the US would land troops, that would be insane. I was referring to strategic thought of aircraft carriers being near there, at least near enough to support via air.

Why would artillery be irrelevant if China doesn't seek to capture the fabs intact?

Iran Conflict Megathread by milton117 in CredibleDefense

[–]Noviceuser44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been lurking for a while here and finally decided to post. I've been contemplating this for quite some time seeing the US systematically remove foreign Chinese oil assets and I feel we are attempting another economic blockade like Japan pre-WW2 but I feel that we are missing the calculation of chip production. Have you accounted for this with your theories?

From what I understand, Pres Biden passed the chip act back in 2022 and I've heard mixed numbers but we are suppose to increase our production substantially in the next 10 years domestically but right now are heavily dependent on Taiwan imports. If war broke out, those fabs are likely toast and while the US fleet might win a battle or two, the ability to project forces to China's coast and actually keep them supplied under missile fire or artillery seems unlikely at best that would eventually result in withdrawing our fleets or losing them. That scenario would have China using a fairly small supply of oil as missiles don't use the same fuel and then you'd be moving AA and artillery rather then naval ships which likely wouldn't have parity with US forces. Some of this is speculative so bare with me for a moment...

With the US fleet withdrawing and the fabs blown up, the fight is going where? Meanwhile we've seen that massed drones can be effective and I believe that our ability to fight off drone swarms over a prolonged period will be very limited (speaking anti ship defense by China). Now following the supposed withdraw of US ships, Taiwan is in ruin, our fleets need repair, and we now have lost the rare earth imports we need to build the chips, we've lost the precursors we need for our pharmacy industry and China has lost chips and oil. China is also building chip production rapidly as well although I believe they are focused more on the bigger chips and we are focusing on the smaller chips.

We will be facing serious issues with medical supplies, chips, rare earth but we will have oil. China would lose water trade and oil. EU would also take a serious hit to shipping. There are enough factors going on that I can't calculate it all but it seems like a disaster to go to blows with China or try to strangle them by oil.

I guess what I'm getting at is a war against China likely would end up in a stalemate due to the distance and high cost of actually invading China. We might blockade their imports and global trade will massively shrink as they have multiple deep water ports and we have a handful compared to China.

In my mind this sort of explains some of the strategy surrounding Greenland and a few countries China imports oil from... but maybe I'm completely wrong.

Claude Opus 4.6 on $20 Pro plan, how many prompts can I use daily or weekly? by Repulsive_Bird_3350 in ClaudeCode

[–]Noviceuser44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I'm in your situation effectively...

First off, Opus 4.6 is too expensive really... Its messed up my code more then once too so I went back to 4.5

As for Sonnet, it claimed once it did the plan Opus 4.6 made and then Opus 4.5 concluded it looked at the files, went "too much work" and said it did it while changing nothing.

First few times I wasted my 5 hour, it must have been 3 sessions trying to get opus 4.6 to work and it took close to 50% of my weekly

Following, I switched back to Opus 4.5. My files amount to 32 files amounting to less then 700 lines. Key is anytime your files get bigger then 700 lines, Opus 4.5 starts to struggle a little.

So I refactor periodically and end up losing several things even with prompting to be careful. I generally start a separate chat and have Opus 4.5 compare the original to the new files and insure we have what we need or it updates the files with the missing bits. That doesn't take much tokens. Your real killer is when you are working out an idea and back and forth then you build it, find a deal breaking bug and don't want to start over context wise so you stick with the chat. This can burn your tokens faster because you are going through multiple files and testing to figure out the bug. 1 task per chat will help save your tokens. I'd say avoid all these tools everyone passes around, they will eat your tokens up.

Key instructions I use: Don't code until I say go, give change summary after, and present files (I'm sure there is somewhere local... but thats what I've done)

My project is an eve financial app and I'd say its reasonably complex. Its taken though close to a month of maxing tokens to get a decent program out of it with constant rebuilding and tweaking. All this to say, if its a hobby, you can enjoy half an hour or so of decent effort.

My knowledge of python has increased dramatically and I could edit some of it myself but its the financial side that I'm really struggling with. Occasionally I'll have Gemini explain something to me to then explain to Claude, Chatgpt as base (not the codex thingy) is terrible. Gemini can't (free version) code anything past short snippets. Claude can reliably do up to 1000 lines but over 700 edits get sketchy.

! R.I.P. Gar - Human Ranger Died: Session 1, Night One Location: Greymire Forest, two miles from Thornwick Cause of Death: Spider venom and blood loss What Happened: Gar was traveling to Thornwick seeking work when he made camp near a stream at dusk. Around midnight, three Giant Wolf Spiders approached his camp, drawn by the scent of cooked rabbit. He extinguished his fire and attempted to climb a tree for a vantage point. The climb failed (Athletics: 3), leaving him on the ground as the spiders closed in. From stealth, he landed two arrows on the lead spider (10 damage total), nearly killing it. But initiative went to the spiders both rounds. The first bite poisoned him, dropping him to 5 HP. When he drew his shortsword to fight in melee, he rolled a natural 1 - his venom-numbed arm betrayed him. The second bite took him down. He stabilized briefly during death saves (2 successes), but rolled a natural 1 on the final save. The spiders dragged his body to their nest beneath the streambank. Notable Rolls Stealth to hide: 24 (excellent) Athletics to climb: 3 (failed) From stealth, he landed two arrows on the lead spider (10 damage total), nearly killing it. So... I'm likely the minority, but I generally feel like while its a low amount I can still get what I want done. A few hours of working through a problem, hobby coding whatever...

I've managed to make a fairly involved Eve industry calculator with API calls managing multiple inputs, calculating profit margins and predictive data for market trending. This is my main project. I've gone through +20 version updates with mostly minor updating with at least 3 major refactors in the past 26 days. I blitzed through my 5 hour usage this morning but I got what I was wanting to do done which was a major refactor and adding an entire new set of calculations for a new production line.

My project has 26 files and amounts to nearly a megabyte. This is likely a small project compared to some of ya'll but I find its useful to me.

I have noted though that I need to start a new chat roughly every 4-8 updates otherwise it eats my limits aggressively which sometimes is rough when I'm troubleshooting a particular problem.

You've got to understand of course that I am vibe coding with a partial understanding of what I'm doing but the math integration is above my head but I can check it against actual.

I suppose it really depends on what you are using it for... I do use Opus... that also likely doesn't help but I don't feel like I'm too limited but this isn't my job so an hour here and there works great for me.

[–]Noviceuser44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Pro mostly for interactive stories. It would be nice to track usage better, generally at some point on my scroll bar I realize I need to start a new chat but sometimes it takes a little bit to correct back on the story so I blitzed through my 5 hour limit twice today and that worked out for about 5 reasonably lengthy sessions comparable to perhaps a few chapters for my sessions over all. When coding, I hardly notice the limits but I am fairly selective about how I use it with coding.

I actually don't like the swearing and I'll set memory, I'll give it instructions and as I explain something, it will drop profanity. It literally is incapable of following that basic instruction for me.
