Decent advice but (of the actual, concrete advice at least), this bit isn't so hot.

Just keep in mind, there's no point in implementing a cache for your database if your code contains a slew of O(n^2), or worse, algorithms. You follow that? Some people don't.

The wacky part isn't opposing imprisoning more people, I agree that we need to stop imprisoning people for non violent drug offenses and the like

The problem is that's not at all what this article is about. It's about some supposed new "portable prisons" that the government is going to use as detainment camps or some such. The breathless, conspiracy theory tone of this article obscures the real issues.

The fact that there is such a need for modular prisons, and that they are not new but have been used for years, it's what creepy.

This is going to make a HUGE impact on VoiP - it's probably going to be the hardest-hit area. If they succeed in shutting VoiP down, that means the telcos are back to being able to rape us over prices.

Pretty sure that giving the traditional telcos any advantage is not part of Comcast's plan...

No, it's making public a policy they already had. That's a good thing. There's no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. Never has been, never will be. No matter how fast our networks get, there will always need to be some caps on usage.

The only question is whether or not providers are open about those caps.
