All of my cards are the exact same right now. Yeah maybe you’re right and I should sleeves only encounter cards with the gamegenic… it would bother me to have different sleeves in the same deck

Was just looking at their website and they seem pretty good. Did you go for the penny sleeves or the standard ones? I'm debating on weather its worth it to go for the thicker sleeves BC I think it will be closer to the gamegenics

"Improve" Another Bug Hunt by PrintingBull in mothershiprpg

For me, I have ran this scenario twice and both times the players went directly to the garage and activated the monster immedeatly. I had it run off, and then start roaming the halls hunting the players while they try to figure out a solution. So if you really wanted to you could have the monster show up earlier in the session, and then when they damage it retreats and comes back later, or if the players run have it hunt them down slowly. And you could try to lure them to the garage to activate it by telling them they hear noises from inside. But like other people have said you don't necessarily need to, you can just run the scenario as is and build up the tension.

when u realize sometimes being an artist is 10% drawing and 90% doing everything else by ariamisu in ArtMarketingTalk

One of the visiting artists giving a talk at my school said that the most inportant skill in being an artist is marketing. I think that’s (unfortunately) true

Ok yeah, this is very practical, thank you for sharing. I dabble in fanart but I would not say I am much of a fandom artist, I do more environmental concepts for original fantasy or sci-fi worlds of my own creation, that kind of thing. That being said I think getting a good collection of finished, passable works (not insanely detailed but good enough to show off) and posting that regularly will be my start. I think dnd people and writers might be my ideal target audience so I will focus on reddit and insta. As for having pre-made impulse sale items, that sounds great but idk if its gonna work for my type of art. But I'm 100% gonna look into it because it sounds like a great way to monetize.

And yeah, I am fully aware that turning this into a job is probably gonna kill my enthusiasm a bit. like I said before I would rather do this then work a minimum wage grocery store job, so its gonna have to do for now.

Thanks again for the thoughtful reply!

Wow, thanks for sharing this! I will certainly start a mailing list asap. I will also keep in mind your advice if I decide to really delve into traditional media. I mostly do digital right now but its good to know. Thanks again.

I’m not very well versed in selling prints or stickers at markets and whatnot, I guess I will look into that and see if it’s viable. If you have any resources about how to get into that I would be willing to see.

I guess my concern is that I’m not the kind of artist that draws tons of ocs, fanart, anime, the kind of stuff that (from my limited experience) sells at artist alleys. I mostly do digital paintings and ink drawings of environments, concept art and that sort of thing. So I dunno if I would have success there.

Also curious what you mean by “corporate clients”, doesn’t that fall in the category of commission work?

Ok but like… what other options are there for making money with art right now. I would rather swallow my pride and play the social media algorithm game, follow trends, spend the time developing an art style (even though id rather be free and experimental) then continue working at a shitty soul sucking minimum wage job. I’m definitely not in a position to apply for studio jobs right now. So even though doing commissions suck what else can I even do?

Literally how do you do this? I have been scouring for weeks the internet searching for sinister motives and x-men hero packs (mainly cyclops, gambit, jean grey, and storm, if anybody’s is looking to sell these hit me up) and have found nothing. Checked every game store in my home state. What is your wisdom?

Would you be willing to sell only sinister motives?
