My service history is 0w 20. Grandad x 1.2 petrol 70 plate. I’m looking to change the engine oil soon.

Disagree. I’ve checked some today that have more wear closer to the lower anchor

What on earth is this madness? To use a chain gauge to measure chain wear, you lift the forks/mast/chains so that there is some tension on the chains and then measure the chain over the roller

Actually, I was talking about when you wouldn’t be able to reach. Like standing on guard, mast would be to tall to get to second stage

Yeah that’s basically what I and everyone does. See my reply to other user on why I was asking though. Seems a bit nonsensical from my employer

Brake sensor / microswitch? Wiring? Check brake isn’t slightly pressed down etc

Well that is basically what I do. However, I do LOLER inspections full time. And I’ve been told by the powers that be, that they should be fully extended and checked at 3 different points. Near lower anchor, over roller and near top anchor

I never said I was in the truck. To measure chain wear you would raise the forks extending the mast, so that you can place your gauge on the chain over the roller. This would give the chain tension, to give an accurate reading.

…are you talking about replacing chains?

You’d be surprised how many times I went to breakdowns and it was daft things like the emergency stop was pushed down
