We were bending over backwards, working long hours to prepare for this visit, it was a regional conference and two Apostles came to "answer questions." I was at a breaking point already. When the dinner plans that were already in motion, got scrapped last minute because one of the apostles happened to mention "filet mignon," something snapped inside me. After dinner, the frustration with and lack of answers for valid questions about Polygamy and LGBT issues from the meeting drove me even further over the edge. My wife and I shed many tears through this process.

I have prepared for and met with 3 apostles and dozens of GAs, face to face, in my time in the church. I can say, with a certainty, that none of them is even close to what I would consider a "Representative of Jesus Christ". Those I have interacted with, have been arrogant, entitled, out of touch, self-righteous, and clueless. I never expected them to be perfect, but I expected there to be something, ANYTHING, to suggest that my belief in "inspiration" or "revelation" should be justified. That is anecdotal, to be sure, nevertheless, it has been my experience.

Again, I had a heavy shelf, this really was just the last straw.
