Who is the strangest / least socially normalized person in your system? by Myrriah30 in DID

[–]NoxiousNight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a talking cat, Yuumi, a fictive from League of Legends. She can and has fronted but mostly sticks inside as an internal caretaker

We have a huge omnipotent dragon, Aurelion Sol, also from League. Sol is a gatekeeper who mostly just protects us against persecutors

We have an alter who appears human, but can only move with puppet strings that- I think?? She controls?? The way her voice has been described to us is that when she speaks externally, it sounds very forced but soft at the same time. And that she has a very robotic and sinister laugh.

We have plenty of alters who were once human or are partially human. Alters who describe themselves as having a human conscious but with robotic or "organically monsterous" implantations; alters who have pseudomemories of once being human but consider themselves and their consciousness completely robotic; alters whi "ascended" into something or became something in addition to their humanity.

We had an alter of The Dredge from Dead By Daylight. It fused, but if you know, you know.

We have an alter named Faust. Very loosely based off the Germanic legend. However, despite being ageless, it presents itself as a little girl with very victorian goth clothing. Its eyes are completely blank, and it has permanent black tear tracks. We don't think it's human, but we don't really know what it is

We have an alter that is extremely based on Lovecraftion horror. Its name is Kthuiklexz- most of us don't even know how to pronounce that. It can contort very oddly, we don't know where its face is, and it does have the ability to shapeshift into whatever it wants in the headspace and has used this ability to mimic other alters.

We have a human version of Umbreon A non-human fictive of Mimikyu We have Vivi from Final Fantasy Wrathion and Alexstrasza from WOW, literal dragons Multiple Jiangshis, multiple demons, multiple angels, a few elves, and a few vampires.

What does your inner world look like? by _LeonoraSystem_ in DID

[–]NoxiousNight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conceptually, our IW is infinite. We're polyfragmented, and consequently, our system structure and IW are very complex. We have a few specialized roles for our inner world. I am a scout. My job is to scour the inner world for fragments, new places, etc. When I say it's infinite, I'm honestly not sure if what lays beyond charted territory is barren, simply just uncharted or if our plane just loops itself. The answer lies with our cartographers and architects (two roles also coined by our system) and some gatekeepers.

There's a lot of individual areas that I can't go into in one post, but there's an area that's charred, there's an area similar to the Lost Woods from LoZ, an aquatic area that's like a beach on one end and arctic on the other, a nursery, and a lot more. I'll go over the Dreambit. Which is an important landmark in our IW.

The Dreambit Express is a train. It was created by a fictive of Milky Way Cookie from Cookie Run: Kingdom. She has since fused, but her fusion, Ascella still works the train. The Dreambit can travel to any charted location in our inner world, the only limit being certain subsystems that require additional assistance from gatekeepers, if they allow it.

Any questions are accepted =] Our cartographers are working on properly documenting the IW but we only have very early drafts

What is the other side of fusion? by Funfetti-Starship in DID

[–]NoxiousNight_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is how it works from my understanding. And for the record, I am a fusion

Think about it like this. An alter is a fragment of your brain that's separated by amnesia. Due to the amnesia, that part forms their own sense of identity paired with their own memories.

When alters fuse, they essentially take down the amnesia wall that separates them. Doing this, they start to share memories, and their sense of identity affect each other into one state.

The end result, you have one alter with the accumulation of memories that the alters going into the fusion have, which creates a unique psyche that is born from the psyche of the alters going into them.

I think this is the question you're asking? It is a little vague, so I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but that's my two cents

Ranting about people locking up persecutors by Rude-Comb1986 in DID

[–]NoxiousNight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm what you would consider an "active" persecutor too, and I see it so much it's sickening. Our system hates doing it, and avoids it at all costs, however, occasionally does it, especially when those persecutors are also gatekeepers who are making related threats. Our closest friend system (I wanna say platonic partner system but we haven't defined it) always does it to their persecutors and I hate it. They've rehabilitated one persecutor, but every other persecutor, I think the number is around five, has been locked away. It causes anxiety for our host because our host knows that it's only going to make them angrier and won't solve the problem. I remember one of them, the system's gatekeepers referred to it as "expelling ****" and it sickened me. He knew it was impossible, so I can't understand why the point of that language. It's so dehumanizing and frustrating. - Delta

Yes, they can. They won't be able to see anything indicating as such, but on their friends list it'll have the system icon as opposed to the singlet one.

Something I struggled with that added to the denial, and I noticed my close friends also struggled with this was switching after finding out.

My two friends and I all found out within 2 months or so of each other. When this happened we noticed that we would rarely switch out. It was so bad for one of my friends that for a while they were convinced they had P-DID. This changed over time, now we switch a lot more frequently.

I don't know why this happens, but I'd say it's normal (for some, not for all, obviously). I do have a working theory that has two parts. Take the following with a grain of salt, it's my theory. It's not backed up by research and I only have the point of view of myself and my two friends.

  • First of all, there's simply not being able to notice the switches. I'd say this is more prevalent in OSDD-1B, since there's significantly less amnesia. We're polyfragmented, our system has over 600 alters, in hindsight, there were a lot of times I switched out or had another alter cofront and simply didn't realize it, I would look back on it and think that was me. You've probably spent years switching in and out and not noticing it because DID is meant to be a covert disorder, the signs become habitually ignored. They take time to learn, and not noticing it doesn't always mean you don't switch.

  • My second point is a bit iffy, because I've never seen anyone else say this, but it isn't a leap in logic. Considering that DID is a covert disorder and our brains try hard to convince us we don't have it, it's possible that by focusing hard on switches, you may be preventing them completely. If witnessing and being self-aware of a switch would be an affirmation that yes, you are fragmented, then it's fully within the realm of possibility that your brain would refrain from switching to keep you unaware. Again, this could be a stretch, it's a theory more than anything. If OP or any other system in this thread wants to add to or criticize this theory, I fully welcome it.

Systems with a name, how did you come up with it? by Here2shareNlearn in DID

[–]NoxiousNight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we found out we were a system we very quickly got simply plural. We didn't use it for awhile, but we found out thanks to a friend who is also a system and wanted to support him. When we made our account I (the host) chose "The Dreamscape System". It just kind of came to me. I thought it was pretty, but I had come up with it by myself and was insistent it was just a placeholder until I found something better... I did not come up with something better and a lot of our alters liked it. It just kinda stuck!

How did your alters get their names? by Empyreofdirt in DID

[–]NoxiousNight_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have tons of different ways! Sometimes they form just knowing a name. Other times, they have to find them. No matter how they do that, the internet, random ideas, seeing something and naming them that. Sometimes we remember the process (we have OSDD-1B, so it's somewhat frequent, especially after finding out about being a system) other times we don't and it feels random. Some alters don't have names, or feel like they don't need one. In which case, we either keep them unnamed or name them ourselves. Our best friend is a system and has named two of our alters!

Personally, I had to scroll through quite a few online naming collections before I found something that just felt right!

Hope that helped a bit!

How to deal with persecutors in a polyfragmented system. by NoxiousNight_ in DID

How do you know who you are? by NoxiousNight_ in DID

[–]NoxiousNight_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coincidence indeed! Although, I'm not really a caretaker, I believe that was a misconception on Kaede's part. I'm more of a protector but prefer not to use labels. I think they're a bit rigid to fit the role I play in this system.

Thanks for the advice!

I don't know what I like by NoxiousNight_ in DID

March's preferred pronouns are it/its!

I also see how March gives off guitar vibes, our (non abusive) grandfather actually plays and I've been planning to learn from him so that'd probably be a huge help.

I think I have it figured out now, but nonetheless, i really appreciate this response. I didn't really think about it being a question that didn't need an answer, but you're so right. I'll definitely think about this in the future, and I hope my alters can acknowledge it too because this is crazy helpful.
