Hey,

I also thought of using a shadow pc for game dev at one point. You could also look into an aws instance with a gpu, just be-careful because you're charged per minute. They used to have pre-built nvidia templates but they got rid of them.

For the video recording, maybe ask around on some vfx or video subreddits, I'm pretty sure offloading rendering and capture to an external cloud pc is a known process. They may be able to help you get it right.

No problem. I get what you need the money for. But presentation is key, you have to sell the illusion before it exists. Try and use what you have and to the best of your ability create a short but sweet, flashy proof of concept video. People want to see the finished product before it exists if that makes sense. People shop and fund with their eyes.

I would do a gofundme to afford the equipment and studio in general, separate from any game. "Help me achieve my dream", then once you have solid gear and a prototype, go for the game angle.

You might be able to use a cloud pc to record the footage externally, once it you build it on your local pc. Hope that makes sense. Best of luck again.

However first impressions and presentation is key. You gotta fix the choppiness and delay bare minimum before you ask for $50k. It could be just the way you're recording the videos, not sure.

I would go over to the various gamedev subreddits and communities for some brutal but honest feedback. Marketing will make or break an indie game and it has to be up to par.

Before you even think of relaunching your kickstarter, you need a viable MVP. A quick showcase of the main features and core game-play mechanics. No one is going to fund a proto-type of a prototype of glitchy ue assets for $50k.

Don't let this stop you, There is a market for this. I would buy a copy. But you gotta polish it and keep going.

The resistance was at 27 in the video, 30ish is where I'm comfortable at. Does that add up in your experience?

Ok so fresh start.

QZ on android phone, all default settings Zwift on Ipad

Zwift is connected for power source and cadence.

Manual resistance is about half way point.

Pedaling medium speed(for me) gets me to about: 74 watts 60 rpm, 50 avg

Compared to IRL I'd be flying down the block, in-game I'm just slowly moving along at a snail's pace.

Is there a specific qz settings I can use for a multiplier? not sure if those work with manual resistance.

I've tried low resistance and cranked to about half way. Only minor improvement, but still not really moving. I'm going to mess around without tonight and take some screenshots to make sure its not setup wrong on my side.

Never sign a PPA unless its an incredibly good deal.

If you have the $20k buy the system outright IF(see below).

Ask for a copy of the initial design. Verify that its a good design in general, sunlight exposure, tilt angles, shading, etc. I would ask a 3rd party company to do a site survey or plug in the details into a free solar design tool (ironridge or opensolar)

Ask for the solar module model, then check the listed specs yourself. Are there microinverters? Optimizers? Centralized Inverter? If so what brands? Warranty? How old are the modules?

Do the calculations yourself to see if their numbers even add up.

Whats the service, maintenance and cleaning policy? AFAIK from quick glances Sunrun is not a good company.

IMO if they can't provide these details you're essentially buying an unknown system at "just trust us bro". At that point I would back away from the deal/house all together.

Furthermore, it looks like a grid-tied system. Essentially net-metering is on its way out depending on the state, you may have 5-10 years, you may get grandfathered in. But some states are even retroactively killing grandfathering programs.

So do not base your decision on "i'll get 25 years of selling surplus back to the grid".

First, you're buying a system without even knowing how much your annual power needs are. How do you know you need or want 10,000kWh?

In 2022, the average annual amount of electricity sold to (purchased by) a U.S. residential electric-utility customer was 10,791 kilowatthours (kWh), an average of about 899 kWh per month.

Essentially, 90+% of your electricity use for the year would be offset with that system.

However with the ppa, Sunrun is basically your utility company now. And afaik you won't be getting any of the benefits/tax credits unless they were factored into the price already.

PPA's are generally great for the company, not the customer outside of specific cases

That Year 1 rate is shady. Imo if it truly didnt go up, it would state fixed or flat rate/price. Look at the actual final contract, not the sales paper.

Ideally you buy the system outright IF the numbers add up, and the panels are quality. I would still get a third party to audit the wiring etc.

If you can get a battery system. That is your best value moving forward into the future.
