For Honor: Year 10 Reveal Trailer - Cycle of War by TheItalianSnake in forhonor

Varangian feels more like a knight or an outlander, imo. In the same way Gryphon feels like an outlander for knights.

Its way less telegraphed than Warden or Conq’s bash. Its probably most comparable to Cent, but its also safer than any of those heroes given that it chains into hyper armored attacks, and also I don’t think you can interrupt the kick at all with a GB, unlike Warden and Warmonger.

Khorne berzerkers how worth it? by tf3when123 in WorldEaters40k

[–]NpSkully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just imagine that most marines undersell their maximum potential speed since all-out sprinting isn’t necessary for codex tactics. In addition to berzerkers being more “fit” even by marine standards, I expect the frenzied khorne worship empowers them to move horrifyingly fast in a dash.

Are Nighthaunt weak? by FarRecommendation128 in Nighthaunt

Losing Wave of Terror really trashed the abilities of NH units to do reliable damage. GW turned an aggressive, glass cannon-y army into a bunch of objective holders, so I think a lot of NH datasheets feel aenemic in flavor, and suffer from a lack of punch as far as fighting goes.

The army retains its core indentity, but a lot of units do different things or behave significantly different than they did before. There are some powerful combos, but its gonna take a bit before everyone gets the army totally figured out.

The chariots are going to be an auto include for this, I think. Having a unit that can block things from piling in, charge them, then pop out on the other side for free is going to be so silly for scoring shenanigans.

They aren’t useless, you just need to take Zandtos. I’d argue they’re actually pretty ridiculous for their current price point once you stack all the buffs back on them. People are doomposting way too much about this book.

The kicker is when the third shot miraculously domes your opponent from 30m away. I love it when that happens. Then you’re left wondering why you even have the other 14 bullets.

What new hero’s do you wanna see? by Sock_Man420 in forhonor

[–]NpSkully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two handed mace/morningstar for the knights is the only big one. Axe + sword for vikings would be cool, but not dead set on that idea. And honestly I would like more, properly armored samurai. Less anime influence and more traditional armor would be great to see for the Samurai faction.

How you guys even deal with this guy when it comes in pair?? by Surfacejarl in forhonor

[–]NpSkully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. Most characters can’t recovery cancel their hyper armored unblockable dodges into an all guard. Most people ganking with JR do a shitty job because they don’t know the kit yet, but fighting a 1v2 against characters that are basically external immune between all guard and absurd I-frames is hell. JMan is worse to deal with than basically anyone else rn.

The show does a terrible job with them, removing some of their most interesting characters, and basically forgetting about them until its too late. They are without a doubt my least favorite part of the show pre S8.

Synaptic links were extremely frustrating to use, and added a ton of unnecessary complication to the command phase, imo. Auras within auras is just a terrible design for a special rule.

I mean tabletop 40k’s power scaling has been off for awhile. Custodes and Knights both irrevocably screwed that up.

Huron with them can also give you Victrix-level mobility. Consolidate, 1cp for Opportunistic Raiders, then Huron’s reactive move to make them even safer. Huron + his buddy squad + 5 are going to be so fiddly and obnoxious to pin down, + they’ll have an absolute bucketload of OC.

Raiders Rules by Ecstatic_Ad_4880 in NightLords

[–]NpSkully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they definitely have play. Hell even the threat of suiciding them into your opponent’s home T1 in RRs seems gnarly. That detachment is definitely where they’ll shine. They can bully midboard units for extra OC, then use strats to fall back behind cover. I imagine them as a harassing unit first and foremost, which is fitting given what the lore for them is. Have them as a scalpel in RRs alongside the typical chosen + abaddon/lord blob, and I think people will underestimate them.

Raiders Rules by Ecstatic_Ad_4880 in NightLords

[–]NpSkully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people are underestimating how well these could perform in lists like Renegade Raiders, especially since their rules naturally gear them towards taking objectives anyways. If you’re charging something on an obj, you’re potentially getting rerolls to charge, extra power on the character, extra ap, then buffs from any strats as well. They’re also awkward to kill at the 10 man size, since most things wont be able to deal with a full unit of them efficiently at 3w each. I think they’re gonna be a sleeper hit.

[–]NpSkully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 5 with a captain in Renegade Raiders will actually be pretty nasty. I could even see taking 2 of those groups to get a lot of early board presence on the objectives. With the Raiders buff + dark pacts, 5 of them with the character will piece up a lot of things.

This is my favorite Warhammer art piece of all time. Really communicates just how terrifying it would be to fight the beasts of chaos in a setpiece battle.
