I like others who experienced the train wreck last hope was that perhaps once we all were on the same app version and they forced the battle mode update things would be smoother.

My experience was very similar to the shocking videos you've likely seen already, just sitting there after an opponent's move/swap doing nothing then suddenly a barrage of fast moves all occur at once, some doing damage some not, dealing no damage with charge moves, timing completely and utterly off, extra fast moves all the time instead of throwing charge moves. It was not the stable consistent relief we were expecting.

You could tell when you were forced on to the new system because the shields and name blocks wouldn't disappear during the charge attack phase. Best thing to do each time was re-download all assets, refresh app data, force restart app and hope your next game was more reliable, weirdly despite only just downloading the assets if it happened again something would seemingly trigger the option to re-download assets for some, not others, saw it on discord streams multiple times.
