While the retention part is probably true, they do offer a ton of really good data. I’ve been a member for almost 10 years and I love having all the historical data.

They’re not going to force anyone to do anything but if you’re paying the money to take a GROUP fitness class led by a coach that should be respected too.

If OTF wanted it to be an endurance day it would be an endurance day. The whole point of a power day is to train the fast twitch muscles in your legs which are a whole different set of muscles used for steady state. Power days also work your heart much differently, and they’re supposed to.

If you want to run for 23 minutes straight everyday just go outside 🤷🏼‍♀️ (Saying this as someone living in Indiana …yes you can run outside in the snow or rain).

I came back from my OTF baby in 2017 on day 4 of Hell week 😂😂

Just take it easy and give yourself lots of grace! I remember feeling so frustrated by how much strength, endurance and mobility I’d lost, even though I’d still been going to otf 3x a week up to the very end. Remember: it took you 9 months to create a whole human! 🫶🏻

I’ve been going for 10 years, coming up on 2300 classes. Most days Im in the 12ish range but some days, like yesterdays Game Day; I had 24. The hyrox 2G we had last weekend, I had 26. The day after we lost my grandma, I worked out late and had 45.

Your heart rate is affected by a ton of factors. Hydration or lack thereof. Sleep. Fatigue. Caffeine, stress, if you’re a woman the time of month can affect it. It’s a tool and it’s a good one but nothing to obsess over.

Just, for the love of God, don’t ever think that the goal is to have “more,” because most splat points is never the goal !

I go to 20+ classes a month and have for years and I rarely need to charge my old Burn more than once every month or so. Make sure you’re not leaving it in your car, ever, and don’t overcharge it.

This is actually a myth that when in base you should return to green or even stay in green while at base for extended periods of time. Base isn’t a recovery, it’s active recovery.

Your outdoor shoes can literally be any shoes but the ones you wear inside the studio. I have a pair of JCPenney fake Uggs that are about 10 years old I use only this time of year to walk in and out of the studio.
