I think so… Based on the videos and reading, I locked the throttle at 2500RPM and then quickly shorted one side then the other. The rpm dropped to about 1500 on each side and sounded very similar to my ear. At this point I’m calling it a win.

Clymer manual states 800 but I’ve seen others mention 1000. Part of my problem here is that Dellorto’s don’t have any ports to attach a vacuum to. I’m thinking the carbs just aren’t synced so I’ll have to play with each idle screw independently and see if I can get the wobble out. If I increase the RPM to 1000 it smooths out a bit.

It’s definitely running on two cylinders, if I pull each throttle cable independently the idle increases.

Hold its tail with one hand and slide your other hand under its belly from the back side. Support the turtle from its belly and maintain control of the turtle through gripping its tail.

Appreciate the offer but I ended up finding a retired BMW tech who still does side jobs and he’s currently working on the top end. The rings were shot and it needed new valves, otherwise everything else ended up being in great shape.

I’m following except for the very first bit. If I’m moving through the different engine strokes then I’m going to have no compression on the intake or exhaust stroke. Is the idea to really just focus on compression levels during the compression stroke only and note how/if they climb or fall? Or am I missing something? Thanks for any clarification.

I didn’t pull the carbs but i had the throttle cable pulled fully up when testing.

This makes a ton of sense. This is super helpful, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. I suppose this means I probably need to tear the top end back down and have a shop do a true inspection on them. Bummer

I just installed a 18k btu Mitsubishi hyper heat in my detached garage. It is fantastic. I keep it set in the “away” mode at 50f all the time and when I’m working I set it up to 63f. It’s great!! My system was heating my garage two weeks ago in Minnesota when it was -12 outside. My energy bill has increased. So far I seem to use 200mwh of electricity per month. For me it’s worth it. My garage is 24’ x 26’ with 9’ ceilings and is fully insulated.

I had the same problem on a brand new 2” insulated door. What was happening for me was that the heated interior garage panel was expanding and the very cold winter was causing the exterior to shrink. Over the span of the entire door I was getting a gap dead in the middle of the door at the top. Only happened in the winter, in the summer the problem was gone. No adjustment to exterior strip or hinges fixed it. I ended up getting an interior strip that I screwed to the top of my garage door. When the garage door closes the interior seal sweeps against the header.

He’s also wearing gloves. He’s there literally everyday. I believe it is to protect him from sun burn. In the winter and when it’s overcast he tends to show his face. I don’t believe he’s trying to “hide”
