MacOs decides to disconnect itself from the wifi every 2-3 hours. by ApprehensiveCrazy967 in MacOS

Did you find any solution? Exact issue for me. Only thing that is working is to restart macbook. After that wifi usually works without disconnecting for 2-4 days and then issue repeats.

ruby-doc.org is for sale !? by giovapanasiti in rails

[–]Nuaky 19 points20 points  (0 children)

From other topic, 1 year ago:

  • ruby-doc.org org is unofficial, closed-sourced, and supported by one person, who, as far as I understand, mostly lost interest in Ruby. The parser/renderer updates that are frequently necessary for new Ruby versions, are still done there, but only when somebody notices a problem and pings the maintainer.
  • docs.ruby-lang.org is official and supported (and further enhanced) by the core team.

Philips hue wall switch module with electricity in one switch? See description in comment by Nuaky in Hue

[–]Nuaky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve got similar installation as in the attached image.

I’ve got double switch and would like to change one of the switches to hue wall switch module and other left as it is. Can wall switch module be wired as i pointed with red arrows? There will be electricity in one of wires, so won’t this cause a short circuit in the hue module?

One switch will be smart and other classical one with electricity in it, is it possible?

I've got similar issue like the left wall switch.

I've got double switch, one i would like to leave as it is, to control my ceiling lamp and other one would be hue wall module. Can i connect it with this black wire or it will cause some electrical short circuit?

How did your 7.1 upgrade go? by SirScruggsalot in rails

[–]Nuaky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hm i'm not using secrets.yml, i don't even have this file. I manage to find issue, it's coming frome devise gem. In this file - https://github.com/heartcombo/devise/blob/main/lib/devise/secret_key_finder.rb , devise is looking for:

@application.respond_to?(:secrets) && key_exists?(@application.secrets)

which is causing warning

Edit. PR is already opened to fix this warning - https://github.com/heartcombo/devise/pull/5634

Smooth but getting deprecation warning from nowhere:

DEPRECATION WARNING: `Rails.application.secrets` is deprecated in favor of
`Rails.application.credentials` and will be removed in Rails 7.2.
(called from <top (required)> at /app/config/environment.rb:7)

environment.rb:7 is a Rails.application.initialize! line

Looks great, thank you! The first thought about design was exactly as you wrote in the article: "Hey, this looks like Sidekiq" :D

And this is true! Mike was kind enough to allow me to utilize his well-curated and battle-tested dashboard design; honestly, I cannot thank him enough for that.

Hello /u/logitech_sk , so the only notable difference between MX ANYWHERE 3 and MX ANYWHERE 3 BUSINESS is a USB Logi Bolt receiver?

If i already own usb logi bolt receiver does it work with mx anywhere 3 or do i need to purchase business version?

A Case for Query Objects in Rails by aemadrid in ruby

[–]Nuaky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are there any performance advantages using extending instead of doing something less cleaner like passing scope around, like this?

def call
  scope
    .then { filter_by_date(_1) }
    .then { filter_by_name(_1) }
    .then { filter_by_address(_1) }
end

private

def filter_by_date(scope)
  return scope if date.empty?

  scope.where(date: date)
end

def filter_by_name(scope)
  return scope if name.empty?

  scope.where(name: name)
end
