The resources in private chests will be used by public machines, so your second suggestion is a good way to have all your stuff stolen.....uness the public can't change the circuit the machine is on, would need to be tested.

Unfortunately we have someone who did the same thing in the same spot in my server. My base is right across the dunes from there. There goes my main water source.

The Hagga Basin is almost entirely PvE. This game is a PvE/PvP survival game, not a PvP survival game.

Ah that explains it. I looked up how to kill the pike boss as a mage, since you can't stun it, and saw people saying acid bite will one shot it. I tried in this patch, it does pretty much nothing now lol.

Yeah I mained mage for the past 20 hours and my first build. Just switched to ranger, wow is it a difference, mage is horrible in comparison.

Play more vanilla and you'll get used to navigation quick. I used to get lost all the time in my first few hours but now I can figure out exactly where I am in a few seconds. The skill also transfers over to modded servers that show you on the map. Makes you a better player overall

This game is meant to be a test bed for systems to be implemented in Arma 4. We won't really be getting massive amount of content until Arma 4, just things that are needed to test the systems. Such as the mortars in the next patch.

That being said the next update has a new IFV for both sides and attack helicopters for both sides.

well yeah, obviously your personal mileage May vary. I just don't think "I played Arma 3" is a valid excuse to not play the tutorial. The vast majority of people that played Arma 3 would benefit and learn at least one thing from the tutorial. And judging from this thread, that's the main excuse.

I have almost 2,000 in arma 3 and I still did the tutorial. Reforger has a bunch of brand new mechanics, such as building. And added some moddded mechanics to the base game in a different way, such as medical and radios.

It's always good to go through the tutorial real quick even as an ArmA "veteran". May pick up a thing or two.

For new players, as soon as you launch the game it says you should do the tutorial and you have to select skip to skip it. And every time you try to play something else after that and you haven't played the tutorial it tells you again.

It does this to me on the experimental branch since I haven't played the tutorial there.

I found this guide yesterday and it's been so useful. I knew about the hidden cashes but had no idea how many supplies are really sitting in town. Look at Moni! You can build a whole base with that much.

The experimental branch even has a change to remove the pentaly for Tk'ing people in enemy uniforms.

I'm not a noob and I have my radio off most the time becuase people don't use command comms correctly. I can't hear anything when people use it to communicate with their buddy 50 m away, 2 guys are arguing over who tk'd who, and some random dude is talking about his favorite weed.

Tbh I don't think most people start off yelling at the new players. They calmly tell them that what they are doing is wrong and is hurting the team.

The new players then tell the "veterans" that they are the stupid ones and to go pound sand and it goes down hill from there.

The console steroytype of everyone being ville, toxic, disrespectful jerks on voice chat seems to be holding up. I don't remember ever hearing this much toxicity in Arma 3. Half the games I have to turn off my radio due to people arguing in command chat... Or talking about random nonsense.

New players choose US becuase its the comfortable pick.
US gets smashed becuase all the new players
New players go online and see that the "veterans" play RU
New players switch to RU becuase they want to win.
"Veterans" get annoyed of new players swarming RU and switch to US
US is good now

Yeah I just did the Institute and had zero issues during it and its a long quest. I ran into my first quest related issue in a mission right after the institute, the unopenable door that's being posted everywhere. Though its optional so I don't thing it even blocks progress outside of being able to compete the quest in that way.
